We always rave about color payoff in our yarn, but what about texture? We don't think it gets nearly enough credit! From boucle to tweed to hazy silk, the possibilities are just about as endless as the color combinations we can dream up! Sometimes nature can have a big part in our texture choices, like the cold weather making us want something warm and fluffy while warm weather makes us desire something breezy and drapey.
Have you ever felt a yarn that was so soft it felt like you were making with a cloud? That's how we feel about the newest yarn from Blue Sky Fibers, aptly named Skyland! This scrumptious yarn is a beautiful blend of baby alpaca, silk, and fine highland wool. Available in a stunning shade range, all boasting names that are reminiscent of the sky itself, we can say with certainty that their whole hearts went into this yarn - we can feel the love from here! This yarn provides enough comfort to get through the most trying times, while the blend of silk gives it a subtle sheen!

Using Blue Sky Fibers Skyland yarn, create a cozy hat that boasts the sumptuous strings of baby alpaca, silk, and wool, while featuring an eye catching colorwork design. The alternating, zig-zagging pattern creates a fun yet sophisticated hat that complements just about any outfit!

They say good things come in small packages, but what about tiny ones? If we're going by that logic, they should be incredible! Well, the Beans over at JBW HQ seem to think so and hope that you will too! Making a swift return to the Jimmy Beans Wool website are the magnificent Mini and Scraps Grab Bags! Part of the appeal of knitting and crocheting is that we can make just about anything out of yarn, so why not continue to use our scraps to make a patchwork project or cool colorwork design for something spectacular and one-of-a-kind?
We love a good mystery around here, and these Mini and Scrap Grab Bags get us excited to plunge into their yarny depths to uncover what secrets they hold (like weight, color, and more). The only thing we know for sure is that they're chock-full of Madelinetosh yarn and weigh anywhere between 200-300 grams! Each kit is a little taste of what we have to offer - think of it as a sampler of sorts. Like going in for that piece of cake where you said you'd only have a bite, and before you know it, you have the whole slice? Yeah, it's totally like that.
Each Grab Bag is only $20.00, making the perfect way to top off your next project by adding fringe, a contrasting border, or just plain ol' adding it to your stash! The possibilities are endless!

Bloomin' Berroco!
Choosing a good yarn is like finding the type of tea that's right for you. Some people like floral notes, while others find comfort in spiced cinnamon. But what do you do when you find yourself enjoying just about every flavor there is out there? That's when you turn to blends that marry the worlds of sweet and spicy.
What do you think of when you hear the word "chai"? Is it something sweet, or maybe a little spicy? Berroco answered this question with ease, defiantly saying "both," and naming their spring/summer yarn after the beloved tea. Berroco Chai is a sweet and spicy blend of linen and silk, marrying the worlds of lightweight drape and strength and making this a durable yarn for all of your warm-weather projects! Each ball carries 142 yards and is available in a sweet palette of soft, summery shades (try saying that five times fast)!

Got a project with a lot of intricate stitch patterns you need to remember in it? Maybe you need to remember what size needle you used for your sleeves on your cardigan in progress? Katrinkles has heard our plight and came up with the perfect solution!
With the new Write On/Wipe Off Stitch Markers, you can use a Sharpie to make sure the ink stays as long as you need it to and then use rubbing alcohol to wipe your markers clean for your next project! Keep track of your decreases, right and wrong sides, and anything else you could think of! The set comes with 6 stitch markers, each measuring 3/4".

Picture this: You're walking around in your house, dragging your feet because you haven't had your morning coffee yet (don't worry, we've all been there) when suddenly you feel the carpet on your heel. Well, that's weird. You're wearing socks! You look down, and, *gasp!* the knitted fabric of your socks is shockingly thin on your heel. You need to fix this immediately! We've picked up new Jawoll Reinforcement Bobbins for this exact problem! Each fabulous color of this thread does well to blend into your yarn and helps increase the durability in the toes and heels of your socks. By knitting the thread into high-impact areas, you can reinforce your project, extending its quality of life! Each bobbin holds 43 yards.

Project On Our Needles!
Alex's Minimal Pullover
Our Bean, Alex, is simply amazing! She participated in the Madelinetosh Sweater Club when we were making the Minimal Pullover. Instead of following the pattern exactly, she decided to take matters into her own hands, adjusting what she wanted and customizing the design to make it all her own! Omitting the side splits and inside-out shoulder seams, she also shortened the turtleneck to a mock instead of a full-length foldover. The sleeves were modified to a chic 3/4 length, and the body was adjusted to a hip-length rather than the longer tunic style.
We're so proud of all of the Beans for having the knowledge, pride, and skill it takes to modify patterns into something truly unique - great job, Alex!
