Last month we introduced you to three new Micro-brewed yarns and they were all a huge hit! This month we are pleased to introduce you to Knitted Wit, Sincere Sheep, and Holiday Yarns! Before we show you the yarns, we just wanted to share some fun facts about these companies:
- Lorajean and Brooke from Knitted Wit and Sincere Sheep are besties in real life and in yarn-life, and you'll almost always find their booths side by side at knitting shows (that's how we met them!). We are so excited we could feature them both in February!
- Last year, when we did a call for our customers to share their favorite indie-dyers, fans of Holiday Yarns flooded our Twitter feed and inboxes waxing poetic about Jennifer's hand-dyed creations. She dyed Day 9 ('80s Dance Mix/Ladies Dancing) for our 12 Days of Yarn-mas collection, and we are thrilled to have her yarn back again as part of our Micro-brewed collection!
So without further ado, we introduce to you our February Micro-brewers...er, dyers!

- Name: Brooke
- Hometown: Berkeley, CA, now residing in Napa, CA.
- Past Life: Landscape Architect.
- Day Job: I design gardens as part of the business I co-own with my husband but Sincere Sheep has grown to the point that it is my main day job. I have a son in kindergarten so there's the mom-job too!
| |
- Micro-brew of choice: Coffee from Ritual Roasters. They have a stall at the Oxbow Public Market here in Napa. Their coffee is so smooth and tasty.
- Non-fiber related hobby: I love to read. Since a big part of being a dyer is production I listen to a lot of books while I am winding and dyeing yarn.
Visit the Sincere Sheep website to see their full range of naturally dyed awesomeness! |

- Name: Jennifer
- Hometown: Lansing, MI, now residing in Syracuse NY.
- Past life: We owned a farm in upstate NY with 300 sheep, a handful of cows, pigs and chickens, all pastured/grass fed. FYI, 300 sheep means roughly 600 lambs in the spring, so think almost 1000 sheep for the summer months!
- Day Job: This is it. Day job, night job, weekend job.... if I've missed some section of the clock please let me know - I need those extra hours as well.
|
- Micro-brew of choice: I'm a tea drinker. I'm very fond of Teavana and cannot be trusted to walk past any of their outlets.
- Non- fiber related hobby: I'm afraid I don't understand the question... no wait. Horseback riding. Hopefully we'll be able to add a horse to our family this coming summer!
