I am rarely unhappy with a yarn purchase, but this was one of them. The yarns had a higher percentage of man-made fiber than I expected and there was more novelty yarn than I knew what to do with. It will serve as a 'stash builder', but it will be dead stash that sits at the bottom of the bin.
I have reservations about leaving this review because JBW is my favorite yarn source but I feel I need to. I was very disappointed with the Large Pink/Purple grab bag I purchased on 5/27. The yarn choices were seasons ago discontinued, and even purchased at full price did not add up to anywhere near $100.00. All but 2 of the skeins are not carried by JBW anymore and one of the 2 is on clearance for $3.99. Thank goodness I purchased on Wool Watchers for $40.00. I guess I got what I paid for at the WW price. Seriously not the value I thought it would be. However I love JBW and will continue to use it as my #1 source for my knitting desires.
I hate to do this as I love everything about JBW and this is the first review I have written but feel strongly about this-last Fri. bought 4 of the medium blue GB-very excited to get.VERY disappointed-just about all was novelty yarn and lots of out of date eyelashy type yarns. What do you do with Fonty Serpentine anyway? My bad as I was greedy and bought 4-they were on sale for 20.00 each instead of 50.00 thank goodness. When you buy a pig in a poke ,that is what you get. sorry JBW-my LYS burned down last Dec. I of course will continue to shop at JBW,but the grab bags just don't make it. SORRY
