The ruffle pattern is terribly wrong. I worked on this shawl for year before finally finishing it because there are just too many stitches in the ruffle "as written" and I had to keep ripping it out and starting over. Also, the pattern requires 8 balls of yarn: whereas at least 12 are needed. Thankfully Jimmy Beans Wool tracked down additional yarn of the same dye lot for me. I have heard "around the yarn shop" that Mac and Me patterns are wrong many times. Once I rewrote the ruffle pattern the shawl is beautiful and the Blue Sky Alpaca Silk is magnificent to work with. I emailed Mac and Me several times to ask about the mistakes and got no reply. They don't seem to care. That is why I am writing a bad review.
I have made this wrap numerous times. It is beautiful. I do, however, make it much longer (which requires more yarn obviously). It's a beautiful simple wrap in Cascade Yarns' "Luna" which requires larger needles and, again, much more yarn.
