I learned how to magic loop a couple of years ago using this wonderful book. Took me a couple of tries to make socks, but they come out perfect every time now. I am ordering a book for a friend who wants to learn magic loop. It is so wonderful for all kinds of things with small diameters, not just socks. BTW, I only do one sock at a time, as I don't like fiddling with tangled yarn. I still feel magic loop is easier than dealing with DPNs. Be sure to always snug up the yarn with the first couple of stitches with each needle change and you will never have ladders.
The Magic Loop technique is simple and almost immediately mastered. The hardest part is the decision to give it a try and then it is off to the races. I cannot say enough about how this technique has increased my desire to knit and even finally love making socks for myself, gloves, booties and just any or items. Any yarn weight knits up so evenly and easily. All of the little needles are replaced by just one simple long flexible needle and stitches are never falling off, no ladders, no tangles. It is a miracle!
