This rectangular shawl and scarf is inspired by traditional Shetland lace patterns. The edging is knit in sideways sawtooth garter-stitch and the length is then knitted in a lacy fir cone eyelet pattern. FINISHED SIZE: Shawl: Approx. 19 x 80", after blocking; Scarf: Approx. 7½ x 72", after blocking. You can also view all Churchmouse Classics Patterns.
as with so many things I knit, I originally intended this for myself but as I followed this simple pattern I realized it was for my daughter.this classic pattern with the self fringe is gorgeous and looks woven. both sides are exquisite.
I have never used 4 needles to knit with before and have finally given up on this. I found the video that gave further explanation that was helpful but still kept messing up. Finally gave up.
Love this pattern. I made a pair for myself and they were so comfortable. As the nights get cooler I put them on to watch tv at night. Also good for travel as your slippers.
