I have never before purchased a product from Addi, or from Jimmy Beans, which I have been less than delighted with. Unfortunately, this plastic stitch gauge was a first. I was bitterly disappointed to find that the material it is made of is totally inadequate, and too flimsy for the purpose it is intended for. It looks more like a promotional giveaway than something you would purchase. To add insult to injury, I bought TWO, so that I could have one in more than one knitting bag... If I didn't live in the UK, I would have returned these - but it's just not worth the postage.
I really like this gauge. It's nice and sturdy, well marked and seems as if it will hold up for years to come. The only thing that surprised me was the fact that it's made out of a strong plastic. I made an assumption that it was metal (like my old one). That's not a problem for me, in fact, I like this much better. Maybe there should be a notation in the description to describe the material it's made of? It really is my new favorite gauge!
