There's been something brewing at the Jimmy Beans laboratory over the past few months, something so top-secret we haven't been able to get the scoop on it until now! A hushed whisper has been on everyone's lips since the beginning of the year. "We miss Indie Club," some would cry out, while others would desperately ask, "How am I going to get my fill of fiber now?" If you've found yourself murmuring something similar, don't fret, because we've finally uncovered the answer to these pleas.
We've infiltrated Jimmy Beans HQ with one question, "What DID happen to Indie Club?" We searched underneath every nook and cranny until we stumbled upon something that read, "Sock Club". Sock Club? Well, what's that!? We investigated further until we found the holy grail of information!
This super-secret Sock Club is sure to, well, knock your socks off! Each month highlights a new indie dyer and designer who show us what they're made of in two gorgeous custom colorways: Fun and Vibrant or Moody and Bold. Both come complete with luxurious fiber contents, unique stitch patterns, and a fun accessory that changes every month! The Jimmy Beans Sock Club gives you the perfect bite-sized project every month with the option to pay via an auto-renew each month or to pre-pay for the full 6-month subscription in one go!
Each month's sock project will have an accompanying video to help you learn a technique from the pattern and hone your skills through a fun, informative, and Jimmy way!
From a trusted source, we've found out one of the secrets of the first installment of this so-called Sock Club - Lola Bean will be the first indie dyer to kick things off! You could say this club is the bean's knees!

Lately, the weather has been a little all over the place here in Reno. We were smack-dab in the middle of some sweltering heat before being greeted with the need to bring out the heavy blankets again over the weekend! The sky finally opened up (which, for us desert-dwellers is always a welcome thing), and with that rain, a bright rainbow danced across the sky, inspiring us to indulge in some equally vibrant yarn for our next project.
|
|
Neighborhood Fiber Co. had the same idea, bottling what feels like the very essence of nature in her colorways so that we can play with those colors and make gorgeous projects out of them!
Using natural ingredients, Karida (the color curator and founder of Neighborhood Fiber Co. herself) pushed the limits of what they're capable of, expertly crafting a palette of vivid, deep hues and delicate neutral shades!
|
Karida began her journey back in Washington D.C., inspired by the diverse neighborhoods found throughout the capital. She inserted nods to them in the colors and names for the bases of yarn, cheekily building her brand with a strong foundation (hehe!) just like the urban landscapes and rich culture in her surroundings!
Don't forget to go and check out our official Pop Up page to see past spotlights! There, you can find the designs inspired by each shop, the scrumptious strings we brought on board, and interviews diving into their stories on our blog!

Shiny, Shimmery, Stellina!
Did you know that copper was the first metal to be worked by humans (along with gold and iron)? One of the most attractive things about copper is the vibrant reddish coloration it takes on! From deep, rusty red to romantic rose gold, copper has been in our orbit since man's humble beginnings!
Nowadays, we take this lust for shiny elegance to heart and have even woven hints of it into our yarn so we can feel as glamorous as possible every stitch of the way!
... Okay, maybe there aren't actual chunks of copper in our yarn (can you imagine how heavy that would be?!), but the inspiration was taken from that soft shine copper gets when the light hits it juuuust right.
|
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light + Copper is a single-ply fingering weight blend of merino wool with a touch of copper-colored stellina that catches the light with subtle but brilliant glimmers.
Tosh Merino Light + Copper carries the same, generous 420 yards of squishy strings that regular TML has, making it the ideal pick for any project big or small. It has the added benefit of that little bit of brilliance, leveling up your next sweater, socks, or shawl effortlessly!

We just received our last shipment of this yarn! Due to the sheer elegance wrapped up in each skein, we just can't bear being in its presence any longer - we aren't worthy! But maybe your needles are! Just like the sword in the stone, be sure to test your skills at this glittery yarn before it's gone! Knights of the Round Table? More like Knitters of the Circular Needle!

Adrienne's Accessories!
It seems like in every friend group, there's the "mom friend". They're always on top of everything AND help you out when you need it. Thirsty? Bam! They just so happen to have an extra water bottle in their purse. Need to write something down? They've got a pen at the ready. Their purse is like a treasure trove of useful things, and we're so thankful! If you are that friend, we commend you - thank you for being such a rockstar!
We consider the new Knit Kit 2.0 to be the "mom friend" of our project bags! Holding everything we need from stitch markers to scissors and even a built-in row counter, this tiny treasure has saved our butts countless times!
|
|
The Knit Kit 2.0 is the heavyweight champ when it comes to usefulness for each project! This accessory is compact, with each part of it being important to crafting your next project!
In addition to its retractable 5-ft tape measure and a double-ended crochet hook for all of your dropped-stitch needs, the Knit Kit 2.0 also includes a built-in, three-digit row counter, allowing you to count sky high! The back compartment also gives you a space to hold stitch markers and a pair of folding scissors!

Did you know that Jimmy Beans has a winding program? We know that not everyone has a wool winder or someone at home who is willing to help us wind by hand. Hand-winding is also SO time-consuming - why would you spend 20 minutes carefully wrapping up a ball of yarn when you could spend that precious time actually crafting?
|
When you order your yarn at Jimmy Beans, you can specify in the comments that you would like your yarn wound and we'll get that squared away for you! It's sort of like ordering off of the secret menu at your local coffee shop!
The first three hanks of yarn are wound for free IF they have 500 yards or less. Any more skeins under 500 yards will cost $2.00 per hank. If your hank is over 500 yards, it will cost $4.00 per skein.
