Are Ewe Ready for Wool Week?!

Every September, knit enthusiasts gather in the Shetland Islands to celebrate anything and everything wool related! This year, Jimmy Beans Wool is joining the fiber festivities! To prepare for the world renowned 2023 Shetland Wool Week, each year an official patron is selected to design a free hat pattern for everyone to knit whether you're attending or celebrating at home.

Get your needles ready to jump into the Wool Week fun! Earlier today it was announced that born and bred Shetlander, Alison Rendall will be this year's hat designer! Her blooming Buggiflooer Beanie was inspired by the Fair Isle yoke jumpers her mom made for her each year growing up!

As part of the fun, Jamieson's of Shetland brings this beanie to life using Spindrift and an exciting warm-toned palette that reminds us of visiting Shetland in the fall for this joyous event!

Dawn's Random Dice Blanket

This year, our Bean, Dawn wanted to tackle a temperature blanket project, but after learning the pattern she was using would turn out to be over 18 feet long by the end of the year she pivoted into a new concept. Much like our Jimmy's Lucky Poncho from last year, she is deciding the order of colors by the roll of some dice! She used Cascade 220 in 11 different colors to bring Dedris Uys Lazy Waves Blanket to life.
