Excellent idea, but worried about it lasting
The train case I bought is cranberry, can’t find a place to leave a review for a non “second” cranberry train case. I have had this train case for about a year now. It’s portable, hold a good amount of yarn and anything else I want to take with me for the day. That being said the handle tab on the top are beginning to lose thread and I’m not sure how I’ll reattach or reinforce it. The inside magnetic part is slowly separating from the top as well. If you could make a train case with an actual latch or something more secure it would help with security when walking since the handle is the proper way to carry the train case and when I have a big project you can see a small gap around the lid and the only thing keeping it from popping open is a small magnetic button without any real depth. The pleather is flaking away in spots here and there as well but only time will tell how bad it will get. For the price I was hoping to have it it is in Japan being used on trains and trips daily look nice and help me take my knitting with me for at least four-five years of use before it started having problems. I’m giving it three starts since the handle starting to come off is a major problem since that is the proper carrying method. Also the top on the inside separating from the lid is a big issue as well. The flaking/ splitting pleather as well as the latch concerns I didn’t take stars away since the latch just makes me nervous and hasn’t yet given out and pleather isn’t a good long term choice for looks really. All in all it gets the job done, just wish it wasn’t starting to come apart at such important places already.
