Knitter's Pride - Dreamz Special Interchangeable Needle Tips (for 16" cables)
Does the job, but not easily 4 out of 5 stars
I got short cables long ago, not realizing I couldn't use them with the regular length needles. I wanted to knit a hat quickly, so I got the 7s to save from magic looping the whole hat. It was definitely faster, but I still found it took some effort to get the stitches around to the left needle. They were pretty stretched out, and this was a man's hat, I think about 90CO stitches. As always I do love the Dreamz needles and the sharpness of the point compared to others.

Muench - Oceana
cool 4 out of 5 stars
I didn't realize this was metallic when I bought it. The color 4800 base is gold, with blues primarily woven in. And I never use novelty yarns, but I thinks it's pretty cool. I'm knitting a bottom-up dress or tunic now. It knits up nicely, more like a cotton, so it doesn't have any give to it. I'm on ball three, and no problems.

Swans Island - EcoWash Aran
NOT Aran Weight 3 out of 5 stars
I bought 10 skeins for a project and in person, could immediately see it was thinner than aran. Sure enough, when I knitted a swatch, it knits up like worsted weight at best. and I virtually always knit at gauge So I cannot use them for my project, a really big waste of money. The color I ordered was aubergine, which really had more red undertones than expected, not a true aubergine color. I was looking for a special yarn to make this blanket for my daughter, this just doesn't feel like anything special.

Frustrating 2 out of 5 stars
I'm having bad yarn luck lately. I'm using the graphite and light gray to knit a bath rug. First skein had a huge knot and several inches of frayed, torn fibre. But more frustrating is that it keeps twisting up on itself. It does it if I knit straight off it as I got it, or when I rewound it into a regular ball. I have to stop constantly and untwist it, not easy with a big ball of bulky. If I let it spin enough to untwist, it becomes a bunch of cotton strands that aren't plied if that's the right word at all. Hard to knit without splitting the strands. The graphite is a nice gray. The 90 gray is light and less blue than appears online. They go together well. The rug will turn out nicely I think, but not fun to do.

Swans Island - EcoWash Aran
Won't be using it 3 out of 5 stars
So disappointing to get this and see it doesn't look like Aran weight. Sure enough it knits at more like 4=22st on US9s. I have to have the right weight yarn for this big project. It seems like nice yarn, but in my swatch I found the plies can separate a bit. Overall, I'm not impressed. The Aubergine has a slightly less plum color in person, it's a bit more to the red/pink side of purple. A nice enough color, but noticeably different than the photo. I took my own photo for Ravelry and my photo was the exact same color as the one here, so it's odd.

Rowan - Silk Twist
So pretty 5 out of 5 stars
I made my husband a beautiful scarf in Ruby. People have complimented him on it and he wears it almost to the exclusion of any other scarf. It does have a little sheen which makes it slightly dressy to me. Very pretty yarn.

Loop-d-Loop - Fern
Great looking fabric 4 out of 5 stars
I've never used novelty or ribbon yarn, and this is really neat. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, but probably a short sleeved pullover of some kind. A simple garter stitch turned out a nice plushy fabric swatch.

Manos Del Uruguay - Silk Blend Multis
Color issues 3 out of 5 stars
I know this is hand-dyed yarn, but I had extreme color variations in a single skein, and it got worse with the second skein. As always, JBW was incredible and offered me new skeins. But I would just warn people to be careful ordering this yarn online if you are using more than one skein. That said, it's beautiful and nice to work with.
