soft and supple, fun to work with!
I am not normally a fan of this type of yarn because it seems to be a single ply, and single ply wools can be weak, knotty, and pull apart easily. This yarn, however, is absolutely beautiful and fun to work with. The end results are even more beautiful than I had expected them to be and my daughter LOVES wearing her hat and sweater.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this yarn
I am a huge fan of wool/silk blends, and this is one of the best. Heritage silk not only comes in beautiful colors, it has fabulous drape and is fabulous to work with. I enjoyed working with it so much that I came back and purchased it in other colors and yarn weights.

Good solid yarn at a decent price
I bought this to knit a specific project from a Vogue Knitting book. When it arrived, I thought that it was an interesting color but it didn't FEEL special in any way. I work with a lot of really nice yarns, and this one just felt average to me. It is definitely affordable and I agree with most reviewers that it is a solid choice for most knitting projects. I can't say anything bad about it, but for luxury items I will definitely be turning to other merinos such as Madelinetosh or other fibers/mixtures such as merino/alpaca or even Hand Maiden's sea silk!

Beautiful, soft, and luxurious!
I absolutely love this yarn. It is not only beautiful, but is soft and has excellent stitch definition. You can make pretty much anything with this yarn and it will come out looking fabulous. Unfortunately, it's a bit expensive, so I tend to use it only for luxury items that I can wear to special occasions or date nights.

Mink... without killing an animal!
I bought this to make a cowl from an issue of Vogue Knitting International. I have since bought it in several different colors and made many, many more cowls. It is so soft that while you're working with it you almost can't feel it, and when finished, you just want to keep rubbing the cowl against your face. It has a slight halo and still manages to have excellent stitch definition. I would use this for any item that I want touching my skin!

Thick worsted and so so soft!
This is another win by Cascade... it's incredibly soft and just the right mixture of wool to alpaca to be stretchy yet luxurious. You can use this for anything from cardigans to car seat covers with confidence. There's nothing bad I could say about this yarn!

Beautiful yarn, but hard to find projects for.
I love to look at this yarn, but its texture and fiber content make it difficult to decide what it's best used for. In general, cotton is a fiber that stretches and looses its shape. Linen normally has beautiful bloom on washing and becomes softer and softer the more you wash and wear it. I purchased it in a variegated color way, which I think made it even more difficult for me to figure out what I want to use it for! I think it will make beautiful accessories or even baby blankets, but I would not venture to use it for sweaters due to the fact that its fabulous drape could be prone to fabulous droop.

Soft and sensuous
I bought this one on sale and got it in a neutral gray tone. I LOVE IT. It is soft, strong, and has just the right ratio of wool to alpaca to make it scrumptiously soft without making it non-stretch as alpaca is prone to be. Because the wool has excellent stitch definition and stretches enough to be forgiving, you can use this yarn for absolutely any type of project and get the luxury feeling of the alpaca next to your skin. My only complaint is that each skein is only about 165 yards, making it a bit more expensive for larger products.

Solemate is a sock knitters dream.
The fiber content of Solemate is definitely designed with the sock in mind. I think the product description even talks about the cooling effect of one of the fibers. I have a great fondness for Lorna's Laces yarns because they are visually interesting, strong, soft, and in most cases machine washable. The only problem with these yarns are that they are hand dyed, which means that if you're going to knit socks and want them to match you may have a good bit of waste getting to where the color needs to be.
