Plymouth - Happy Feet 100 Splash Hand-Dyed
Really like this one! 4 out of 5 stars
I have very much enjoyed working with this yarn. I purchased the Crayon colorway, and had plenty for a pair of women's socks. The yarn is good quality very soft, consistent weight, and not at all splitty. The color was not as vibrant in person, though, which was a little disappointing. I'd definitely consider buying it in another colorway, though!

Vice Yarns - Blurred Lines Sock Sets (150g)
Update: Do NOT recommend 2 out of 5 stars
I wrote an earlier review based on the fact that the yarn I received was significantly different than pictured Cupcake is neon, not pastel. Having worked with this for a month, though, I am updating my review and taking away a star. There are a couple things I do like. Though I don't love neons, the colors are nice though a little heathered, and I like that it's a gradient, and I was able to get two PAIRS of size-7 socks out of it. I have huge issues, however, with the yarn quality. First of all it is very splitty, which I really don't like. Secondly, the weight is inconsistent in parts some sections are quite thick almost sport weight and others are extremely thin lace-like. This makes me worry about the durability, which is a big problem for socks. And finally, the length of the color changes is inconsistent. The very middle of the cake is orange, and this section is almost twice the length of the other colors annoying when you can barely see it in the picture. Overall, the colors might be nice, but I don't recommend it due to the quality of the yarn.

Vice Yarns - Blurred Lines Sock Sets (150g)
Okay... 3 out of 5 stars
First of all, please take this review with a grain of salt as I have not yet knit this up yet. That being said, the photo for this was way off. Yes, I know monitors can distort shades, etc., but the photo for cupcake shows various pastels what I got was very saturated, almost neon. Also, the texture is extremely odd to tell from the ball because it looks like it comes from a sock blank very kinky, which was also not in the description. So far, I'm a little disappointed, but I will try to update my review once I use the yarn.

Jimmy Beans Wool - Beanie Bags
So much fun! 4 out of 5 stars
I've gotten two so far, and I've really liked them. The first month was my favorite all shades of plum and grey, which I really enjoyed. The second month's colors were all baby poop yellow-brown, but the fiber itself was nice I'll probably just use it as scrap yarn for afterthought heels or mitten thumbs. I also loved the little buttons and stitch markers that came in my first bag! I don't usually browse the notions section of JBW so having samples sent to me is a nice way to discover things I wouldn't otherwise find. As for the bag itself, it's a great size for storing needles, notions and scrap yarn, but it would be nice if they were a little bigger to accommodate small projects, and if the zipper was better quality the zippers they have currently catch on the yarn and are quite finicky. I've really been enjoying receiving these bags the anticipation and surprise is definitely worth the $10!

Frog Tree - Ewetopia
Love this yarn 5 out of 5 stars
This is a quirky, springy, wonderful yarn well-suited to simple classic projects I highly recommend Tin Can Knits' free collection. It is now being sold under the name HiKoo Trenzado.

Malabrigo - Silky Merino
I keep coming back to it! 5 out of 5 stars
This is one of the first boutique yarns I ever tried, and after sampling many many MANY other yarns, this is still one of my all-time favorites. It is soft and gorgeous, with a bit of a silky sheen. It comes in amazing colors, each with its own personality. I love how the yarn is not all uniformly colored, but it doesn't look at all faded or blotchy when worked up. I've used this for baby hats, mittens, and so many other basic little projects. It's always a pleasure to work with, and I just wish it came in other weights so I could use it for more projects!

Universal Yarns - Bamboo Bloom Handpaints
Not what I expected, but nice 4 out of 5 stars
From the description I was expecting this to be a dual-strand yarn, not a thick-and-thin yarn. That being said, however, it IS a lot of fun to work with, and I really like the color options. It's working up interestingly, though it's not as perfect for the moebius cowl I'm making as I'd hoped. I think I might try another skein, though, purely because of its unique texture and lovely colors.

Cascade - Baby Alpaca Chunky
Beautifully soft! 5 out of 5 stars
I love this yarn! I bought a skein of the sapphire lace, and the color is gorgeous. It's not perfectly monochromatic there is definitely some variation in the saturation of strands, giving it a lovely depth of color. It is wonderful to knit with, and has a nice loft with a slight halo. I'm using it to knit a hat, and it's turned out perfectly soft and not even slightly itchy. It's a real treat to work with, and I'm doing my best to use every last bit of this skein!

Classic Elite - Classic Silk
Disappointing 1 out of 5 stars
I was really looking forward to this yarn! I had anticipated that the silk would give the cotton a pleasant sheen and make it feel a little more luxurious. This is definitely not the case, however. The cotton has a cheap feel. Much more like a mass produced yarn think lily sugar'n'cream not at all like a finer pima-like cotton. It's very dry to the touch, not silky as the name intimates. The strand of yarn also seems to have a pilling issue there were definitely lots of pills in the skein I worked with, even before working it up. It does, however, have some positive points. It is pleasantly soft when worked up with a loose enough gaugethink t-shirt soft. The color was also nice, though more muted and vintage-y and not so saturated. It is not an overall TERRIBLE yarn it just doesn't meet the expectations I had for a nine-dollar yarn, ergo the single star.
