I owned the original leather wallet & loved it till it fell apart. So I ordered : of the new ones. Terribly disappointed in them. They are stiff, difficult to open. The ribbon Jude to pull the phone out which incidentally is too tight ripped out after 2 weeks of use. I haven’t opened the second unit yet, not wanting to be disappointed twice
I replaced my old maker's wallet with this newer offering and the first thing I noticed is that it is smaller in size than the original. Overall I do like the new wallet and I personally like the little scratches on the waxed canvas, I think it adds character. Two of the features that I used most on the old wallet are disappointing on this new one. First, they removed the yarn cutter from the wallet. This was something I used ALL the time on my old one. Secondly, the wrist strap broke the very first time I used the wallet. Jimmy Beans kindly replaced the broken strap with a new one but on first try out - that one broke as well. The remedy for me was to purchase a wrist-strap to attach to the wallet.
First the good. The wallet is solidly made and roomy on the inside. Really nice zipper closure. It did not, however, in the end, meet my needs. 1 If you plan to carry this wallet inside a larger bag, you might not be happy with the ease of resulting scratches and scuff marks. Check the display picture and purchase with eyes open. 2 The cell phone pocket is very tight with exposed metal snap grommets on the inside that would drag across the phone when it is pulled in and out. I have an iPhone 12 mini. Note that it has a glass screen protector and a standard plastic back coverâ€most people do. This might have made the difference, but regardless I could not use the phone pocket. The design itself is very pretty. I own two other canvas makers bags and love them both. This one unfortunately was not for me.
