I love the look of this bag and I was very excited. It came quickly and I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now. There’s flaws. Firstly, the snap on top between the leather and canvas is completely useless. The placement of the straps always just unsnaps it as soon as you pick up the bag. It unsnaps basically if u move the bag so that compartment is always open when I am carrying the bag. Secondly the compartment with the yarn guide is so small and oddly shaped that one wound ball makes the bag bulge. A saddle bag could have a flat bottom in order to hold yarn. So anyway other than that the bag is beautiful but for the price I wish it was more versatile. I wouldn’t recommend this for a makers bag.

I love the style of this bag. It is rustic and chic at the same time. However, I am going to use it as my purse rather than a knitting bag. It is that cute! Does anyone know how to care for the leather? Should we spray it to protect it like other leather?

I ordered the saddlebag to use for light travel when I want to carry my iPad or my old tiny Apple Airbookboth of which are under 12. The 10 iPad barely fits in a couple of pockets, so be aware that the 12is over all, size. No pocket can hold anything much bigger than 10 and close. Despite having a yarn cutter and a couple of included stitch markers, I don't really see this flat bag holding skeins of yarn without it looking like you're carrying a bag of potatoes. Gussets would make sense on a bag for that intended purposewhether for yarn or potatoes! The included stitch markers are cute, but unless you have pliers to open the jump rings with you, they are useless, i.e. they are charms, not stitch markers. So what's good about it? It's HEAVY, sturdy, and appears well made. I'm still debating if I want to spend $90 on a bag that has limited versatility.
