Definitely Color Variation Between Dyelots 4 out of 5 stars (4 out of 5)
Make sure you get all of one dyelot or ask the JBW reps to match your order by eye. For the colorway I purchased, now-disco-d Champion #65, there is massive differentiation between balls of yarn. I'm lucky I was able to get all of one lot, and that they all match, but the color I received is a cooler shade of red, as opposed to a warmer shade as pictured. When looking on Ravelry there is massive variation in this colorway as well. I really liked the brick red color but I'll make due with the shade I received. I haven't knit it up and washed/blocked it yet, but since it is red I do expect there to be some bleeding, even with machine-dyed yarn. I know this yarn is prone to pilling as well, as I've seen balls for sale at my LYS in a bin that get tossed around a bit and they look a bit ragged and fuzzy on the outside. I don't care much considering it will be used for a men's scarf and he'll likely spill beer on it or salsa or tomato sauce or something anyway, and not take great care of it so I'll just be lucky if he doesn't lose it.

BAD 1 out of 5 stars (1 out of 5)
Knots, knots, and more knots. I don't know how this got good reviews. Don't buy. For your sake and your blankets

Knots in the yarn. 1 out of 5 stars (1 out of 5)
I bought 17+ balls for a nice couch throw for the winter, and in every single ball, there was a knot join randomly in it. It wasn't even always in the beginning or the end, there would randomly be a a knot that can't even be fixed just by untying it, because its a knot to join the yarn together. It's enough annoyance joining my yarn together for this blanket without having to do it 2 or 3 times extra per ball.

Like it! 4 out of 5 stars (4 out of 5)
Sheds a little but otherwise a guick and easy knit. Am using it for winter hats and so far have ordered four times in various colors all of which are very pretty.

Good stitch definition with Rowan Big Wool 5 out of 5 stars (5 out of 5)
I knit the Boheme hat from French Girl Knits Accessories using the recommended Rowan Big Wool. The yarn was nice to work with, and the stitch definition of the cables, seed stitch was nice.

Big Wool, Big Fun 5 out of 5 stars (5 out of 5)
I usually don't knit with yarns that are heavier than worst weight. I just don't like knitting with big needles. My daughter saw a cowl pattern that called for chunky weight yarn. So I bought Rowan Big Wool. I love the spongy spring of the wool. It knit up to a soft warm cowl. I would buy Big Wool again for chunky weight projects.
