Overall Taiyo Sport Rating: 4 out of 5 stars (4.0 based on 3 reviews)

Taiyo 5 out of 5 stars (5 out of 5)
I've made several crocheted shawls and scarves 4 or 5 using Taiyo sport and sock weight. It's one of my favorite yarns. I love the texture and the colors. Taiyo softens beautiful when blocked/washed so it isn't scratchy or rough like their wool. I also like Noro's Silk Garden for the same reason. I don't find it hard to work with even with the thick/thin qualities which is part of it's delightful texture. When you come to a thin spot just watch your gauge and you should be fine.

Wow, these colors are so wonderful, I am making a shawl and love love love the way it is lends itself to the personality of the design. I have made many shawls out of the taiyo sock and find it a bit softer when knitting with the sport, but find that as I knit along I keep my tension as I would for a straight cotton use the addi turbos and when it is knitted it relaxes and becomes supple, has the right amount of warmth and nice drape. Got it when it was not on sale I loved the colors so much and know the taiyo is nice, the thick and thin adds to the texture and personality imo.

This yarn is terribly rough. I can't imagine wearing it next to my skin. It also runs thick and thin, usually during color transitions but not exclusively. This is my first Noro purchase and based the quality of this yarn it will be my last.
