Nancy Whitman Patterns - A New Slant - PDF DOWNLOAD
A New Slant is a modular garter stitch shawl with a unique asymmetrical shape. The long wedge shape gives you lots of ways to wear the shawl. The knitting couldn't be easier! Work begins at the right corner and continues across the solid section and adjacent striped section. Stitches are picked up along the bottom edge to work the lower stripes. The pattern assumes you can cast on, knit, bind off and pick up stitches. That's it!
Example shown in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, 100% superwash merino, 420 yards per skein, 2 skeins each MC and CC. Actual yardage used is approximately 675 yards MC and 475 yards CC.
Gauge:
23 stitches/46 rows = 4"/10cm in garter stitch after blocking.

Nancy Whitman Patterns - Bermuda Triangle - PDF DOWNLOAD
Bermuda Triangle is an easy top-down shawl that gets a graphic punch when knit in high-contrast colors. It can also be knit in low-contrast colors for a completely different effect. The use of slipped stitches and two-row stripes means you only use one color in each row - easy! Bermuda Triangle was worked at a very loose gauge to give the fabric excellent drape. A deep ribbed lower border and garter stitch bottom band add some textural interest as well. This is one Bermuda Triangle that you won't get lost in! Designed by Nancy Whitman.

Nancy Whitman Patterns - Bocce - PDF DOWNLOAD
Inspired by a woven hat, Bocce's design reinterprets the weaving pattern with slip stitches for the warp threads and stripes for the weft threads. You have a choice of two border options - plain or with points. Bocce can be knit with as many as ten contrast colors or as few as one, making it great for stash busting. It is equally effective with a color changing yarn with long color repeats. You have lots of options to customize Bocce and make it uniquely your own.

Nancy Whitman Patterns - Eden Prairie - PDF DOWNLOAD
From the designer: Inspired by a piece of Prairie-style stained glass, Eden Prairie is my interpretation of that style in a knitted fabric. The shawl is worked from the top down, but the construction method is unique.
Starting with two separate triangles that are joined by a mitered square, Eden Prairie grows by alternately working stripes on one side and then the other. A simple 10-row modified intarsia border heightens the stained glass effect. Constructed entirely in garter stitch, not a purl in sight, Eden Prairie is wonderfully squishy!
Finished Measurements: 60" wide x 26" deep

Nancy Whitman Patterns - Finley Breese Morse Code Shawl - PDF DOWNLOAD
Samuel F.B. (Finley Breese) Morse invented the original Morse Code in the 1830s. As we know it today, the dots and dashes of Morse Code translate well for slip stitch color patterns, making it easy to write something in your knitting. In Nancy Whitman's shawl, each broad stripe ends with three lines of Morse Code that repeat a single knitting term. From right to left, the shawl reads Needles, Yarn, Cast On, Knit, Purl, and Bind Off.

Nancy Whitman Patterns - Lana - PDF DOWNLOAD
Lana begins like a traditional top-down shawl, then it is joined and worked in the round. Two-color garter stitch stripes give way to a wide knit border with staggered purl stitch accents. Two skeins of the Plucky Bello yarn will make two identical cowls, or reverse the colors on the second cowl. Lana is quick to knit and easy to wear, adding warmth without bulk.
