Addi Lace Click Set - Short Needles Reviews

Each Addi Lace Click kit features 8 pairs of addi Lace tips in approximate US sizes: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, along with 5 blue addi cords which create 16, 20, 24, 32, and 40 needles (approximate lengths), 1 Click connector, and a gold addi heart pin. The Lace Click tips were created to be shorter in length (3.5), to allow for both 16 and 20 applications. While the 24, 32, and 40 cords from both the regular and lace sets are fully compatible with any style of tip, the new 16 and 20 cords are not compatible with the regular Turbo tips. Additional packs of cords will be introduced at a later date.

The addi Lace Click tips are nickel plated. Addi's nickel plating process is electro-static, which produces a smooth, rounded edge, where the tip and the cord click together.

**Please note, this plating is only added to the Lace Click tips, and not to the regular addi Lace circular needles.**

Addi-Click...and Catch 3 out of 5 stars (3 out of 5)
I love interchangeable needle sets and for years I have searched for the perfect set. I am a VERY tight knitter and think someone should conduct a study to determine whether my theory that the tighter the stitch, the more neurotic the knitter is correct. My beloved interchangeables tend to have one major downside over time...sometimes not very much time...the connection between tip and cable loosens. The yarn then slips into the groove between tip and cable, and it can be extremely difficult to free the yarn without dropping other stitches. I love the slick surface and wonderful feel of nickel plated needles, and I was intrigued by Addi's unique connection mechanism, so I ordered a set. At first I loved the way the cables connected securely to the tips, even though the connection was not as smooth as I would have liked, and my tight stitches tended to catch there. I also found that with use, the secure connection I'd loved tended to disengage, causing me to have to retrieve and repair all the stitches that were dropped in the process. I am very particular when it comes to my knitting tools, and though there is much to love about the Addi's, I don't think I would recommend them for tight knitters like myself.

Wonderful 5 out of 5 stars (5 out of 5)
I bought this set about a year and a half ago. Up to that point, I had been using Clover bamboo interchangeables I believe, and decided to pamper myself with these. Mission accomplished: I feel pampered. I love these needles- they do not feel heavy to me, they almost never split my yarn and my work glides along nicely as I knit. I notice some friction at the joins if I knit too tightly, but not to the point that it bothers me. Best of all, the needles and cords are exactly as they were out of the package, and I have put them to work! Simply put, this set has made me very happy.

Are these really lace? 2 out of 5 stars (2 out of 5)
To be honest, I ordered these Addi Lace interchangeables elsewhere, but I felt they should be reviewed. I was ready to upgrade from my Knitpicks because they were getting worn out and I wanted to have an interchangeable I didn't need a pin to change points for. I received a discount code, so I thought it was worth the money to buy the Addi Lace interchangeable short tips. To be perfectly honest, I am very disappoiinted. I initially thought I might not like the short tips, but I am not having any trouble with that. I am VERY disappointed in the tip. It is not much pointier than the turbos which I really don't like. I have only used the turbos for hats in the 16 length. I will probably continue to use my knit picks and try to sell these.
