Organizing our ever-growing group of Beans is becoming quite the task, so Mindy has joined the admin section of Team JBW to help keep us from sliding into chaos and to support Bethany
as a Beany-herder. She is great at refereeing speed-knitting contests, as she is also a super-soccer-mom (which helps a lot with all the running around she's doing in the shop!). When she isn't
around to keep us organized, Mindy loves being out in nature with her kids, or restoring old photographs.

Diana has done a little bit of everything here at Jimmy Beans Wool - retail, phones, pulling orders...
and now is a part of our 'doing all the things' team. A self-proclaimed ex-sugar-addict, Diana used to love HoHos and Pepsi as a work snack, but recently, she's gotten back to her exercise physiologist and nutricionist roots - she's swapped the sugar cravings for exercise- and yarn-cravings instead - more fiber all around, and a great example for all us beans!
She is a great knitter and lived in Australia for two years, where she hopes to one day go back and visit.

Jenny has a degree in Anthropology and minored in Art Studio, but is going back for more these days. When she is not knitting, she enjoys painting, drawing,
and being outdoors. Before working for Jimmy Beans Wool, she worked for Nevada Conservation Corps where she spent her days building trails and camping
in the Mount Rose Wilderness - something she hopes to do again someday. She loves Tosh DK (as you can see on our project log...) and has dual citizenship, as she was born in Sweden.

Jessica is one of our all-round Super-Beans, first working in Customer Service and now managing the e-Commerce team. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in
Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology.
She caught the knitting bug from all the knitoholics on the team, and is getting better at it all the time!
In her spare time she enjoys going to Tahoe, watching movies, eating Italian food, and reading.

As friendly and fun as she is fast, Marilyn is our secret weapon - this gal is a pulling, customer service, and knitting machine! We joke that she must have elves doing her knitting
while she sleeps, because it seems like every time we see her, she's finished an awesome new project! A Dental Hygienist by day, Marilyn moonlights at Jimmy Beans to support her secret yarn habit (shhh...). She's also one of our favorite test-knitters, because she can figure out even the most complicated patterns!

You might know Gus from our fabric department, where his amazing quilted creations
adorn the walls of the warehouse and got us all dreaming of our next fabric purchases! Quilting no longer is his only thing, though - he caught the yarn bug and recently started weaving, hoping to weave a Navajo rug one day! We love Gus for all of his useful fabric tips and tricks, and for the stories he tells about Sophie,
his adorable Brussels Griffon. A Canadian from N.W. Ontario, his favorite yarn is Cascade Pure Alpaca (sooo soft!), and he loves to share his talents with people and see them smile - which he does often while working in our retail shop!

Rachel is from North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Anthropology and Biology.
She worked as an archaeologist for six years before her passion for knitting caused her to seek out a job in the crafty world.
She loves crafts of all types including knitting, spinning and sewing, which is what she spends most of her spare time doing. She has also realized her dream of becoming a knitwear designer and dyes her own yarn - check out Unraveled Designs and Yarn!

Erika is from Las Vegas and is one of our Madelinetosh lovers - she says it's magically delicious! Ultra computer savvy, Erika always has a great attitude while she does things all over the place in the warehouse. A graduate from UNR,
Erika has helped us out in a bind in more ways than one! Originally a crocheter, Erika has now fanned out to the wide world of knitting and hopes to one day finish her Ravelry queue. We think she's a little infatuated with Stephen West, but you didn't hear that from us!

Originally from North Carolina, Heather has moved all over the U.S. because of her husband's job - they've been to 5 cities in the last 8 years! When it came time for the last move, Heather only had 2 requirements: nice weather and a great local yarn shop... so, naturally, they chose Reno! When she's not chasing her adorable toddler and sweet but spastic dog around, Heather writes the JBW newsletters, blog posts, and content for the website, and even designs knitting patterns. She's a Madelinetosh addict (the colors are just irresistible!) and a lace junkie, and her knitting dream is to have a hand-knit sweater for every day of the week and a shawl for every week of the year!

Besides having a great sense of humor,Travis is the perfect inventory-organizer for our warehouse. He knows where things go, magically makes room for them where there is none, and intimidates us when necessary to keep our paws off the yarn until it is checked in.
And besides that, the Midland, MI native seems to be immune to the cold winter in the warehouse - it doesn't bother him. He doesn't think he's worn a coat since he moved to Nevada. Even though Travis doesn't knit or crochet, he's artistically inclined and is currently having fun painting cars with Plasti Dip. He really likes any Tosh yarn in the color 'Fathom'.

Lauren is another Reno native who loves all things Madelinetosh - we swear they didn't pay us to say this! When Lauren isn't working in backorders in the warehouse, you can often find other beans coming to her for beauty advice, as she is a professional beautician and helped a lot of us dye our hair peachy or get cool mohawks.
Lauren is getting better and better at knitting, and hopes to one day make a sweater for herself, and to finish terracing her crazy backyard! A fun fact about Lauren is that she never wore pink until she had her daughter - now it's her favorite color!

Amanda ("Sharkey" is her nickname) is an all-around super bean - she can do it all: pulling, packing, shipping, and customer service! If you have called the shop, or sent us an email, you have probably spoken to Amanda before! Originally from Reno, Amanda is currently working on her master's degree. She has recently come back to JBW after studying abroad in France -- she can speak both Turkish and French! She loves Madelinetosh, specifically the tonal color scheme, and hopes to one day complete a sweater project!

Brittany is another one of those beans that our customers love, because she is super nice and helpful to all of them - all the time! Besides knitting, she has a whole bunch of other hobbies such as softball or other sports or playing videogames with her boyfriend.
On some days, Brittany wants to become a teacher, but on others, she'd rather just play with her newly adopted border collie, Bo.

Matt is one of those well-rounded people who like a little bit of everything - he's studying business management, but is also highly creative: Besides knitting beanies (his favorite yarn is anything Madelinetosh...), he plays guitar and piano and sings. No wonder the ladies who come to visit the shop all adore him!
He originally comes from Las Vegas, capital of show business, and hopes to put out his own music CD one day.

Kyle arrived at JBW from Las Vegas, and is a member of our e-commerce team. His favorited yarn is Lorna's Laces, specifically the Limited Edition colorways! He really likes the name references to pop culture, and his favorite is the Avengers-inspired May '15 colorway, ASSEMBLE! Kyle went to school for film, and hopes to one day make short films. He is also working towards a business degree, so he keeps very busy! When Kyle isn't working here at Jimmy Beans, he enjoys playing (he plays guitar!) and listening to music - he has a pretty impressive vinyl record collection!

Penny is a really fun bean who is originally from Melbourne, Australia. Her last name is Crowe... so we are hoping that maybe she can put in a good word for us and one day Russell will come and visit. Penny likes Malabrigo because it's pretty; besides being a superfast puller, she can do some really awesome stuff like move her eyebrows independently of one another!
She has the really cool goal to one day work on waste water reclamation in a third world country.

Nate is a Reno native. He loves Madelinetosh - all of it - and says that it is extremely pretty! He dreams of one day knitting a gigantic blanket. Nate is one of our super speedy beans, pulling, packing, and shipping your orders at lightning speed! When he is not making sure that your orders are shipped to you in a timely manner, he enjoys reading comic books. Fun fact, Nate has a body double... no, really, he does! Nate has a twin brother! Nate is currently in school studying secondary education.

Marsha Marsha comes to us from Malibu, CA. In another life, she was a flight attendant, but she has now joined the JBW crew - Marsha pulls your orders at lightning speed, ensuring that you receive your orders in a timely fashion! She loves anything cashmere, because it is so soft... Marsha enjoys learning new things, so she is always interested in working on patterns that have new stitches she can figure out! Marsha believes that everyone is unique in their own way, because we are all different from one another - we agree, Marsha!

Although no longer with us, Laura and Doug's german shepherd/greyhound mix Wiley was hands down the best product tester to date. He liked to make sure that our yarns were super soft & that they would keep
him plenty warm. He will certainly be missed and will always be dear to our hearts!

Sadly, we lost Buddy as well, leaving the Jimmy Beans team without either of its original doggy mascots. While we know he's happy chasing tennis balls in the Great Beyond, we'll miss his sweet face and willingness
to receive pats and belly rubs pretty much constantly. Both Buddy and Wiley will be remembered as important parts of the Jimmy Beans Family!

Originally from North Carolina, Laura earned a Master's in Poli Sci but switched gears while earning her PhD to computer programming. After working at a software developing job in Palo Alto (which is where Laura met her future husband, Doug!), they moved to scenic Tahoe for a change of pace. During this time, Laura learned to knit and loved it... which is how she met Lorna - owner of a local hand-dyed yarn company. She encouraged Laura to follow her true passion (knitting!) and voila! Doug and Laura emptied their savings account and Jimmy Beans Wool was born!

We would also like to introduce you to Doug, Laura's husband! Doug grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. He basically built our website and computer system from stratch and is a wiz
on the computer - he truly makes the lives of all the other beans much easier!
Doug loves to ski in his spare time and also recently started helping his son Huck hone his already awesome martial arts skills.

Laura and Doug's son Huck was born in 2009. This little boy has already made a splash at the shop. Besides Karate, he loves to ski (we wonder where he got that from...), go hiking, and eat spicy foods! He had lots of fun with the Stitch Mountain photo shoot last year and his motto on the slopes is:"I'm so fast, nobody can catch me!"
A born trouble-maker, he's hands-down the cutest one of us all... well, except for maybe Buddy and Wiley - we guess it's a three way tie :)
