Hey you! Yeah, you! Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit, crochet, weave, or spin? Maybe you already know and want to learn new skills and techniques to hone your craft! We invite all levels of maker to join us in the Jimmy Beans Wool shop for some fun (as well as your daily dose of fiber) and learning where we have Beans (staff) on hand to help teach and guide you through new techniques, ideas, and skills to add tools to your metaphorical making arsenal. Come join our crochet group classes and knit group classes at Jimmy Beans Wool in Reno, Nevada!

Beginning Knitting

Class Description: Learn to knit or refresh any of the basics, including, cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, increasing, decreasing, working in the round, fixing mistakes, choosing the right yarn and needles, basic pattern reading, and more.
Materials Needed: For beginners would would suggest a DK or worsted weight yarn as well as needles for gauge! Usually a US7, US8, or US9 will work with those weights!

Summer Secret Crop

Class Description: A breezy, airy basic that you'll wear all summer long! Learn the beauty of styling your own tank! This pattern is available in a longer length if desired.

Crochet the Way You Want It - Drop-In Always Welcome

Class Description: Learn crochet or take your skills to the next level. Just get the basics or gain knowledge to make you a master, this class offers crochet the way you want it, meeting you where you are at and helping you gain the skills to reach your goals. Do you want to create blankets? Sweaters? Shawls? Toys? Lace? Handbags? The only limit to this class is your own imagination.
Materials Needed: Hooks, yarn, to work on your desired project. If you are new to the craft: medium weight yarn and a I/9/5.5mm crochet hook.

Crocheted Flower Bouquet

Class Description: Who doesn't love a gorgeous floral arrangement? And even better if those flowers never wilt or die? Come join me and make a beautiful bouquet of crocheted flowers to brighten up your home or a loved one's day! 12 of my original design flower patterns, pipe cleaners, and ribbon to tie the final products are included in the fee and at least once of each flower should be able to be completed within the time allotted for the class. Knowledge of basic crochet skills and stitches required.
Materials Needed: - Worsted Weight (size 4) yarn. I recommend Scheepjes Stone Washed XL yarns at Jimmy Beans Wool! - Crochet needle sized J (6.0 mm) or K (6.5 mm) (depending on your preference) - (optional) Stem Wire (a pack of 12 can be purchased at Michael's for $3.99) - (optional) Flower Vase (any standard 8-10 inch tall vase should do)

The Feel Good Shawl (3 Sessions)

Class Description: Looking for a perfect fall shawl? Have you always wanted to learn Brioche? The Feel Good Shawl is a perfect fit for beginner Brioche! Come join us in learning the Garter Tab Cast on, One and Two Color Brioche, Increasing and decreasing in Brioche, Double Brioche, Cable Cast on, I-cord bind off and so much more!
Materials Needed: For our sample we chose La Bien Aimee Merino Dk, 5 skeins, approximately 1050 yards. Please feel free to use any Dk weight yarn. Morning Rituals by Andrea Mowry (3 Sessions)

Class Description: Come knit a cozy sweater with us as the warm season comes to an end. Morning Rituals is knit from the bottom up, adorned with beautiful cables, a high neck to keep you warm and pockets! A group text for pattern support will come with this class as well as the opportunities for further help are available.
Materials Needed: Woolfolk Flette- 9 (10, 11, 11, 12)(13, 14, 15, 16) skeins US 6/ 32" to 40" circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (ML or DPNs), plus a spare for the 3-needle bind off.
Ribbing: US 5/3.75 mm - 16"/40 cm & 32"/80 cm to 40"/100 cm circular and preferred needles for small circumference knitting (ML or DPNs)
Sleeve: US 7/4.5 mm - preferred needles for small circumference knitting (ML or DPNs). if necessary to retain gauge.

Crocheted Terrarium

Class Description: When temperatures are hot and water needs to be conserved, a crocheted terrarium is easy to maintain, beautiful to look at, and can last forever! Over 10 different of my original succulent patterns are included in the price of the class and at least 4-6 should be able to be completed within the time allotted for both classes. Knowledge of basic crochet skills and stitches required.
Materials Needed: Worsted Weight (size 4) yarn. I recommend Berroco Remix yarn - it is made of 100% recycled fibers (perfect for your drought resistant terrarium) and is available in an assortment of colors at Jimmy Beans Wool Crochet needle sized J (6.0 mm) or K (6.5 mm) (depending on your preference) 10" garden Dish or any terrarium bowl to your liking, which you can find at any Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Cost Plus World Market, Michaels

Ingrid Sweater by PetiteKnit (3 Sessions)

Class Description: The Ingrid Sweater is the next need to have on our needles! Come join us in this gorgeous textured pattern, which consists of three different pattern sections, each one separated by an eyelet section. Learn the Italian cast on, German short rows, ribbing and so much more! This pattern is available in a huge array of sizes child-adult!
Materials Needed: Please feel free to use any worsted weight yarn held together with a skein of your choice of mohair. Here are a few ideas to get you started : Woolfolk Far held with Shibui Silk Cloud, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstolk held with Hedgehog Kidsilk Lace.
