We invite all levels of maker to join us in the Jimmy Beans Wool shop for some fun (as well as your daily dose of fiber) and learning where we have Beans (staff) on hand to help teach and guide you through new techniques, ideas, and skills to add tools to your metaphorical making arsenal. Beginner Knitting, 2 sessions

Date and Time: January 7th & January 14th; 10:30AM-12:30PM
Class Description: Are you looking to learn or refresh the basics of knitting? Join us in beginner knitting, which will take you through any of the basics, including, casting-on your stitches, knitting, purling, binding-off, working in the round! Depending on time, we will discuss good first time projects, choosing the right yarn and needles, basic pattern reading, and more! We will include a basic potholder pattern, and a basic beginner hat pattern.
Materials Needed: Worsted weight yarn, wound, US 8 / US 9 circular knitting needle or straight needles if you'd prefer, Stitch Marker *If you are new to knitting, we suggest coming into Jimmy Beans Wool 30 minutes early, so that we can help with yarn selection, winding your yarn, and selecting needles.*

Crochet the Way You Want It - Drop-In Always Welcome

Class Description: Learn crochet or take your skills to the next level. Just get the basics or gain knowledge to make you a master. This class offers crochet the way you want it, meeting you where you are at and helping you gain the skills to reach your goals. Do you want to create blankets? Sweaters? Shawls? Toys? Lace? Handbags? Are you looking to learn Tunisian Crochet? Interlock Crochet? Mosaic Crochet? The only limit to this class is your own imagination!
Materials Needed: Hooks, yarn, to work on your desired project. If you are new to the craft: medium weight yarn and a I/9/5.5mm crochet hook. *Please come to class with your yarn wound, if you need assistance winding please arrive at class 30 minutes early.*

Knitprovisation (Stephen West)

Class Description: This beautiful knit by Stephen West is a top-down shawl with twisting cables and textured stitch patterns. He has showcased it in five colors of worsted weight yarn. Which are striped together to create this fast knit, cozy shawl for the cooler season. The semi-circle is finished with a striped wavy border, resulting in a classic Westknits shawl shape with a textured twist!
Need to know techniques: Basic Cast on, Basic Cast off, and Knitting in the round.

Vanilla Socks on Magic Loop from Crazy Sock Lady Design (2 sessions)

Class Description: Have you always wanted to learn how to knit a pair of socks? Look no further! The Vanilla Socks on Magic Loop is the perfect beginner pattern to learn the basics! We will focus on how to set up your knitting in magic loop, working in magic loop, constructing the heel flap, and finishing with the toe using the kitchener stitch.
Need to know techniques: Basic Cast on, Basic Cast off, and Knitting in the round.
Materials Needed: Please purchase the $2 dollar pattern on ravelry, 100 grams/460 yards of fingering weight yarn, US 1/2.25mm circular needle with a 32" cable, Cable needle, Stitch marker, Tapestry needle for weaving in end

I Love HEARTS Class

Class Description: Valentine's day is just around the corner and nothing says "I love you" more than hearts! Join me in learning how to make heart swatches using bobble stitches, front post double crochet stitches, puff stitches, window stitches, and also by seamlessly changing the color of the yarn! Swatches made from my original patterns are equivalent to a granny square and can be sewn together to make an afghan or a scarf. Included are 6 original swatch/granny square patterns, an original scarf pattern, and two beanie patterns showcasing these hearts!
Materials Needed: Worsted Weight (size 4) and a crochet needle of K (6.5 mm). Recommend Universal Yarns Uptown (Worsted Weight) or Madelinetosh Vintage yarn (Worsted Weight), which you can find at Jimmy Beans Wool!

Class Description: Can you complete the knit stitch but are ready to take it a step further? Join us for Beginning Knitting 2.0. In this two session class, we will walk you through different yarn weights, and different needle sizes, fiber types, and more! Second to learning to knit, is wanting to learn how to fix a stitch if we mess up! Dropped stitches, twisted stitches, and everything in between will be covered so that you are confident to complete your make at home! Session two will cover learning a new stitch all together! The purl stitch is a must know for ribbing, design work, colorwork, and so much more. We will provide a basic hat pattern where you will practice knitting and purling in the round.
