Gudrun Johnston
Hapkerchief Cowl
In this class we are going to knit up a quick and fun accessory that Gudrun has designed in Jamieson’s Spindrift yarn. This project is packed with lots of Gudrun’s favorite techniques; Shetland lace, splicing new yarn, no purl garter in the round and lots more! Not only will you gain some new knitting skills but you will also learn about some of the traditional aspects of knitting that come from Shetland, all while working with the wool that comes from there!
To make this fun and give everyone a unique cowl, we plan on a bit of a pot luck selection from all 200+ colors of Jamieson’s Spindrift at the start of class!

Intarsia in 2-color Brioche and Syncopated Brioche
In this class, we’ll explore Intarsia technique in 2-color brioche. Working with a flat swatch using a background color and 2 colors as dominants. Dominant colors change in the middle of the swatch using Intarsia technique. I’ll also teach how to increase and decrease in a fabric worked with Brioche and Intarsia. We will work a square shape in the middle of the swatch using syncopated brioche technique and work this square with our background color as dominant color. So we can see all 3 colors in right side. At some point, we make the square skew to left or/and right. And learn about how we adapt increases and decreases in syncopated brioche worked with Intarsia
