It's what we've been waiting all year for: the new Harry Potter universe movie is out! (Did you think we were going to say Thanksgiving? Ha!) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is finally in theaters and we can't wait to see it - shhh, no spoilers, please! Our Micro-Brewed Series dyers this month were just as excited as we are, and they've brewed up a cauldron (or three!) of fantastic new colorways in tribute to the J.K. Rowling books! Read on and prepare to have your Muggle (er, Non-Magic) minds blown! |

First up is our very own Rachel of Unraveled Designs and Yarn (an avid Harry Potter fan!)! She's conjured up a wonderful colorway sure to keep any Dementor at bay: Expecto Patronum is a triumphant mix of teals and blues dyed on the Flicker base, which has silvery glitter spun right into the yarn! Each skein has a generous 438 yards, enough to make a lovely scarf or small shawlette like Heather's Patronus Shawlette, available at half price on Ravelry for a limited time! One skein is plenty for the small version, or grab two and make a larger shawl - instructions for both are included!

Sometimes a story is so delectable, it can make you feel like you're levitating - much like Harry Potter's favorite sherbet-flavored candy, Fizzing Whizzbees! In tribute to this yummy treat, the folks at Forbidden Woolery have created their own charming confection: Fizzing Whizzbees is a mix of bright, pretty pinks that deepen into scrumptious plums, with mischievous sparkles throughout! We're sure you'll put it to good use in a simple shawl that can really show off this gorgeous colorway - how about the Insatient Shawlette by Chris Salas, or the Pretty Basic by Janina Kallio? Erika started one of her own and it's delicious! Just don't get caught with it in class, or it's fifty points from Gryffindor!

Our favorite characters are often the quiet but clever ones, and Anne of Wooly Wonka Fibers agrees; that's why she chose Luna Lovegood as her inspiration for her colorway this month! An ethereal blend of creamy, light pink with hints of deeper rose and dreamy pops of blue, Luna is perfectly fitted to its soft-spoken namesake! Dyed on the Arianrhod Sock base, this light and lovely color has bits of sparkle spun right in that hint at Luna's bubbly personality! And that's not all: Anne has also created a beautiful single-skein shawlette to go with the yarn! The Luna Shawl is available directly from her Ravelry shop! Or if shawls aren't your cup of tea, how about Diana's Straight Forward Mitts?
Looking to pay tribute to our other Potter heroine? Anne has also dyed up a batch of Hermione, a mix of studious plums and reliable forest greens on a pure, creamy base, and it's available from Loops Knitting as this month's Loops sister color!
For more lovely colorways, visit the Wooly Wonka Fibers website!
