Just in time to cool off those hot summer temperatures, our next water sign in the Toshstrology 2016 series has arrived: chill down with Cancer! Inspired by the deep, watery blue of the sea where The Crab makes its home, this peaceful and calming colorway is a balm to the eyes and soul! In true Tosh style, an array of deep blues, from the bottomless to the azure, mix together in this tonal colorway to create the semblance of wavy motion in every skein. It's gorgeous, and it's on its way here in all the most popular Tosh bases! Because of the weather down in Texas, all the crabs are still swimming their way west, but we should be able to ship the yarn in about two weeks! | Like the ocean herself, this beautiful blue has inspired us to new feats of creativity! Kristen's Toshstrology Collection installment this month has all the lightness of summer in Dandelion yarn; the asymmetrical Cancer Shawl features eyelet details and would look great in Tosh Merino Light as well - or even in 2 colors! Rachel has a shawl up her sleeve as well: check out the full reveal of her On The Cusp Shawl in Twist Light! With pops of bright color in a Fair Isle pattern, this gem was designed to celebrate you special ones born under two signs! |
A Cancer herself, Heather couldn't resist this captivating cobalt colorway; she designed the Waving Water Shawlette to capture the watery nature of the Cancer sign, with bubble and wave lace details and an undulating, asymmetrical shape. It uses just one skein of Pashmina! Jeanne came up with a gorgeous two-skein wonder in Tosh Chunky: The Thneed Cowl/Scarf uses short rows and large lace eyelets create a Mobius-style scarf, and coordinating buttons really show off the scintillating sapphire tones of the yarn!

And now for your yarnoscope! Cancer, while you may be known as sensitive and moody, you're actually in tune with your emotions and the feelings of others, especially loved ones. You're intuitive and loyal, too, and find it easy to tell how others are feeling even if they don't outwardly show it. Turn that intuition to your loved ones: is someone close to you having a hard time? Would a simple handmade item make them feel better? Think about knitting or crocheting a gift for a friend or family member who may need a little of that Cancerian care! |

| Welcome to our newest feature, Meet the Designer! We'll be shining the well-deserved spotlight on a different designer each month so you can get to know them and their patterns, and hopefully grow to love them as much as we do! Like many of us, Carina Spencer's creative juices flow in more than one direction: a personal chef by day, she also puts her imaginative energy into cooking up delightful designs and knitting patterns! We love her detailed designs and the thoughtful elements that make them one-of-a-kind. Here are a few of our favorites, but you can find even more on Carina's Ravelry page and her website! |
Carina's known for her ingenious cowlettes; they have the look of a lovely shawlette, but stay on the shoulders without effort or pinning! Zuzu's Petals is a perennial favorite, especially in a color-shifting yarn like Freia Ombre Sport, and likewise the Brush Creek Cowlette! The Catkin Shawl shows Carina's love of stripes and texture, as does the Western Auto Cowl; both of these designs are perfect for showing off those gorgeous hand-dyed yarns!
Whippoorwill is full of understated elegance, and with an extra-long wingspan, has many options for wear! And one look at the Lucy Cloche and you'll understand why it's so popular; alluring colors and a fun asymmetrical folded brim pull all the attention to your beautiful eyes! |
