Are you ready for the next installment in our Toshstrology 2016 series? We are! This month's astrological sign is Pisces, and we're diving right in to celebrate this Water sign! Madelinetosh dreamed up a heavenly tonal blue color to represent the watery origins of The Fish, and also as a nod to Pisces's association with mystics and dreamers. And like the sign, this gorgeous color takes more than one form: it's available in every Tosh base we carry! Speaking of dreaming, the Beans have been doing it: | Kristen designed the Pisces Cowl in Tosh Merino Light and paired it with two additional complementary colors in Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails. The pattern features a pretty fishtail lace and some color blocking - the best of two knitting worlds! Each purchase of a skein of Tosh Merino Light comes with a coupon code for half off the pattern price; the Pisces Cowl pattern is also available as part of her Toshstrology Collection 2016, which subscribes you to the full year's-worth of Toshstrology knit patterns (13 patterns total) for only $15 - check it out in the Marinade Designs Ravelry Shop! |
And for the crochet-lovers, Monika has created the Do or Do Not Mittens: because as Yoda says, there's no "try" with these pretty, handwarming fingerless mitts - but you can choose whether you do or do not want to make them into mittens! The pattern is also 50% off with purchase of one skein of Twist Light in this month's colorway!
| They're not the only ones star-struck by this beautiful color: Erika whipped up a Vermonter Hat in A.S.A.P., and Jenn cast on right away for the Simple Yet Effective Cowl in Silk/Merino! If you need even more project inspiration, the Pisces sign is associated with feet, so maybe a pair of special socks is in order? |
The Torrent Socks from Tin Can Knits would be gorgeous and perfectly in keeping with the water theme! They're from the Pacific Knits book, or you can purchase the pattern separately on Ravelry! And don't forget about our Toshstrology Blanket project - as if you could! So many of you have jumped on board for this one, we've decided to make a Toshstrology Blanket Kit so you can pre-order your skeins of Tosh DK for the entire year and have them shipped to you as soon as we have them in stock each month!
The second section of the knit and crochet versions is up on the JBW Free Pattern Page, so get going! | Of course, Chicken Boots is right on theme this month with two special Stitch Marker Pouches: Moons and Star Signs! They're perfect for storing everything from stitch markers to loose change, and fit right in your purse or back pocket! |
Now, Pisces, here's your yarnoscope:
You're sensitive and know how to listen to your intuition, so if it's telling you to try something new, go for it! How about weaving or spinning? Your love for the fiber arts may lead you to make new acquaintances and crafting friends - why not look in your area for a crafting group to join? You may find your new passion and a new buddy, to boot! |

You thought they were gone forever, but have we got a surprise for you! We've scooped up the last of the discontinued Pashmina Worsted from Madelinetosh, just in time - whew! These gorgeous skeins are destined never to be dyed again, and we're giving them a fabulous send-off with a 20% off Tosh-stravaganza! There are colors galore, but they're flying out the door, so grab your favorites before they're gone - for good! |

Are you ready for battle? The Vikings Binge Mystery Knit-Along and Crochet-Along begins February 25th! We were shocked and thrilled to see how much you all loved this month's beautifully bespeckled Lorna's Laces Limited Edition color, Ragnar's Revenge - in fact, we had to order more! It's set to ship out by February 19th, so there's still time to get prepared: pick up one of our handy Yarn-Only Kits, download the patterns directly from Heather and Monika on Ravelry, and join the fun on the JBW Pre-Event Chat Board! But absolutely don't forget your coordinating Spark Stitch Markers - they're too awesome to resist, and the little Viking ship will look fabulous floating along in your project! We're sure Ragnar Lothbrok would think so, too! |

| As usual, we're going gaga for the newest issue of Vogue Knitting Magazine, and rightly so! It's packed with pretties, including in-depth looks at creating plaid (yes, knitted plaid!), modern Swedish colorwork, and more (did somebody say steeking?). We're starting with the Amphora Turtleneck Pullover on the cover - just look at that colorwork! It looks fabulously warm in lofty Universal Yarns Amphora! |
| We can't wait to break out the needles and rearrange our queue for these great patterns! And speaking of needles, this issue includes our newest brainchild: Jimmy's Guide to Yarn and Needle Pairings! The guide is an in-depth look at all the different Knitter's Pride needle types and their respective advantages with different types of yarn, along with a profile of the various Berroco yarns included in our Bento Box Samplers. It's our anthology of advice on needles and fiber! |

| One Sheep, Two Sheep, Black Sheep, Blue Sheep! The Sheep Measuring Tapes from Lantern Moon just got a little more colorful with their latest addition, a limited edition blue hue made just for us! If you've got a little flock of these in your stash (we know we definitely do!), then this blue guy will add a fun little pop of color! |
| Nothing completes a cardigan like a beautiful set of buttons! We couldn't resist bringing on these lovely, hand-carved beauties from Favour Valley Woodworking when we saw them! They are a fabulous addition to any projects where you want a slightly rustic look: Jenny recently used these buttons on her Barn Sweater with Swans Island All American Worsted yarn. |
| We recently received a big batch of Jordana Paige bags and we couldn't be more thrilled with these sophisticated knitting totes! The Cora Bag is great for you digital pattern lovers: it's big enough to hold your tablet, so you can carry your pattern stash with you everywhere! Best of all, you can carry it as a satchel over your arm, attach the included strap to carry it over your shoulder, or even detach the front pocket to use as a clutch or evening bag - so versatile! |
| We all know how easy it is to misplace a tape measure; like all those socks that never make it back from the dryer, they just seem to disappear - and often, when you most need them! Never get caught out again with the latest clever little things from Anna Bee: Metallic Measuring Temporary Tattoos! These temporary tattoos look like beautiful jewelry but with a dual purpose - each "link" is specially designed to correspond to an inch, half inch, and quarter inch! |
Affix one to your wrist before you go to your next knit night, craft retreat, or on a long car ride with your knitting or crochet project - you won't even miss that tape measure, we promise! |
