Spring has definitely sprung, which is why we are eager to share with you this month's Micro-Brews - full of fantastical beings like gnomes, mermaids, goddesses, and moms, of course! We are also thrilled to announce a fun new collaboration: Our friends over at Loops Knitting in Tulsa, OK are joining in on the Micro-Brewed fun! How is that possible, you might ask? Well, they've started working with some of the same micro-dyers we have lined up for the rest of the year, and will be releasing their own unique colorways (one per month) in tandem with ours! The two colors will be co-themed and easy to pair together for endless project inspiration!

| When Leslie, our inventory manager (and one of our resident indie dyer connoisseurs), told us about GnomeAcres, it was adoration at first site. Seriously, who can resist these amazing "gnerdy" and "gnomey" yarns? We HAD to get our grabby hands on some! Luckily, Amanda, the Head Gnome at GnomeAcres, was on board from the get-go and dyed us up this wondrous color, Garden Gnome, in time to tend our real gardens! |
Colors of red, turquoise, and green dyed on a glittery DK weight base, this color embodies gnomey perfection! Leanne loves this color because it reminds her of the traveling gnome in her favorite French film, Amelie.
One skein is all you need to knit a smashing spring accessory like the Age of Brass and Steam kerchief (FREE on Ravelry) or the darling Darla hat from Dull Roar. Or, try it on the Zaggy Cowl by AMBAH (one of our new favorite Indie designers!). And a day in this magical yarn garden would be incomplete without some fireflies to chase, so hop on over to the Loops Knitting website to snag some more GnomeAcres amazingness in their April Micro-Brewed color, Fireflies!

| Next, we welcome back one of our house favorites, Fable Fibers! This stunning color is inspired by springtime trips right around Mother's Day to the Outer Banks of North Carolina spent playing in the sand and surf and pretending to be mermaids (I mean, come on, who hasn't pretended to be a mermaid at some point?). Mer-mama is the perfect blend of ocean blues with dashes of greens and purples that conjures images of colorful scaly tails. |
With 600yds in each generous 150g skein of Novel, you just need one to knit a gorgeous shawl or wrap like the Imagine When shawl by Joji Locatelli or the Penny Infinity Scarf by Andee Fagan, one of Lelah at Fable Fibers's favorite indie-designers! Or, if you are feeling particularly adventurous, the Hitofude Cardigan would just use 2-3 skeins depending on what size you make! This color has us full of knitspiration!
Head on over to the Fable Fibers website for more luscious yarns! |

Last but not least, we have another new-to-us dyer: Becoming Art! We've seen them many times at STITCHES West and often admired their stunning yarns. Plus, Alana Dakos from Never Not Knitting uses their yarns in many of her designs, so we knew we had to ask them to dye us up something pretty... and boy did they ever!!! Their Theia MCS Sport is a shimmering work of art (fitting, given the name of this yarn company!!). Garden Goddess is the ideal mélange of bright shades to round out our April collection.
Bold pops of pink, blue, violet, and green make this the perfect color to wear while putting those green thumbs to use! A no-fuss accessory is what's needed while working outside, which is why Zuzu's Petals by Carina Spencer, or the easy-peasy Stacked Eyelet Cowl (FREE on Ravelry) make great one-skein projects for this yarn! |

This month's Chicken Boots Stitch Marker Pouches may be their best yet! These cute pouches feature two of our favorite things, Kitties and Crafting! Cat-lovers will purr at the sight of the adorable feline-friendly prints, while the crafter in all of us will love the snappy zipper and scissor prints as well! An all-around great way to round out this month's array of limited edition items... and perfect gifts for mom! |
