What is Yarn-mas, you ask? Gather round ye knitters, and we'll tell you a tale of how Yarn-mas came to be...

Born from the Spreadsheet of Dreams (our ever-growing wish list of hand dyers and yarn companies... many of them recommendations from you, our awesome customers!), Yarn-mas is a magical time of year when all of your wildest fiber-filled dreams come true! Modeled after the classic Christmas carol, the Twelve Days of Christmas, Yarn-mas features a dozen custom colorways created by some of those coveted companies on our wish list as part of an extra-special, one-of-a-kind collection. That's right! Twelve yarns from twelve companies we don't currently stock all rolled into one fiber-rific event! One color will be released per day of Yarn-mas, which starts today, December 1st, and runs through December 12th. We only have a very limited amount of each color available, so be sure to grab your favorites before they disappear. If you don't want to miss anything, check the JBW home page every day for the announcement of each day's color, tune in to Facebook, Ravelry, Instagram and Twitter for extra info, or just keep hitting refresh on JimmyBeansWool.com/Yarnmas2014. And don't forget to check out our complete yarn-tastic version (yep, all twelve days in one go!) of this classic carol - we couldn't resist! Merry Yarn-mas to all, and to all, a yarny life!

Brooklyn Tweed - Ok, so we know that Brooklyn Tweed isn't a hand-dye company, but we've been pining for their yarn from the moment we first laid eyes on its tweedy softness (not to mention that we have a serious knit-crush on Jared Flood...but who doesn't?) The stars have yet to align for the day we can carry Brooklyn Tweed yarns all the time, but by some Yarn-mas miracle, they were generous enough to send us a small batch of Loft in a lovely neutral shade called Woodsmoke. It's perfect to make some of Brooklyn Tweed's gorgeous shawl patterns like the Guernsey Triangle, Lumen, or Sempervivum - all of which take just 2-3 skeins! Let's just hope that the staff here at JBW left enough to share with you all! As you can see in the photo, Jenny really loves her Lumen shawl (albeit hers was made with a different yarn, she now wants another one with Loft...)! | |

Fable Fibers Novel - Three French Hens $36.00 | Lelah at Fable Fibers is the hand dyeing genius behind this beautiful bounty of birdy yarn: each skein of this deliciously squishy creation is 150 grams - that's 600 yards of creative possibility! The hard part is deciding what to do with it: you could make a full size shawl with one skein, or even a warm and luscious cardigan with 2 or more skeins! This blend of merino and cashmere with a touch of nylon will be your new favorite thing to work with AND wear. And the color is gorgeous: a mix of green, blue, and ochre reminiscent of fantastic fowly plumage! |

Seven Swans-a-Swimming from A Verb for Keeping Warm in Floating!
A Verb for Keeping Warm Floating - Seven Swans-a-Swimming $48.00 | We've always admired the all-natural hand dyed yarns from A Verb From Keeping Warm, and were so excited when they said yes to Yarn-mas! Their elegant interpretation of 7 Swans-a-Swimming was aptly dyed in their popular Floating yarn base, a delicious silky soft blend of alpaca, cashmere and silk. While it is a fingering weight yarn (with 400 fabulous yards per 100g hank!), Floating is super cozy and great for winter knits that are sure to keep your head, hands, neck or fingers nice and toasty. |

On the 9th day of Yarn-mas, Jimmy got for me...
80s Dance Mix (Ladies Dancing) from Holiday Yarns in FlockSock!
Holiday Yarns FlockSock - 80s Dance Mix $22.00 | Another modernization of a classic, Holiday Yarns did quite a number with Ladies Dancing and created this epically bright and bold 80s Dance Party. With a bonus mini skein of purple-y goodness, this color and its mini-me are in the classic Flock Sock, Holiday's squishy-soft superwash merino fingering weight yarn with a touch of nylon for added strength. Make yourself a pair of leg warmers and get your groove on! |
If you watched our Yarn-mas video yesterday, the 8th day of Yarn-mas, you might have noticed we sang the wrong name for the fabulous hand dye company behind the Maids-a-Milking colorway. We incorrectly sang 'Unwind Fibers' instead of the true company name, Unwind Yarn Company. We apologize for any confusion this might have caused. You can find more of Unwind Yarn Company's yarn-mazing-ness at unwindyarncompany.com!

Yarn Carnival High Wire 3-Ply - Twelve Drummers Drumming $30.00 | As soft as it is sturdy, Yarn Carnival's High Wire yarn is a springy fingering weight superwash merino that is great for everything from socks to shawls. We hope you enjoy the last color of Yarn-mas as much as we do! |
If you watched our Yarn-mas video today, you might have noticed we sang the wrong name for the fabulous hand dye company behind the Maids-a-Milking colorway for the eighth day of Yarn-mas. We incorrectly sang 'Unwind Fibers' instead of the true company name, Unwind Yarn Company. We apologize for any confusion this might have caused.
