June's Limited Edition color, Endless Possibilities, was partly created to commemorate our 10th year in business and also to celebrate the release of our latest catalog, the hand-dyed edition. Most of all, this color represents the wonderful friendships, old or new, that have sprouted and bloomed in the past ten years of business. From those forged within our silly group of Beans to our wonderful relationships with all of our distributers and, most importantly, to the friendships we've made with you, our customers. We humbly dedicate Endless Possibilities to the most heartfelt of friendships that occur in the most unexpected of places.
Endless Possibilities, as you may have guessed, is a direct adaptation of the color wheel found in our logo and the name, of course, is a take on our old tag line. I also like to think of it as representing all the wonderful personalities that make up our fun family here at Jimmy Beans Wool. From all the Beans that work and plan within our doors to all of you out there! Each of us seems so different from one another, with our own tastes, interests, and personality quirks that make us...well, us! Yet, somehow, under that wonderful umbrella of fiber love, all of our individual differences mesh together to make up a truly dynamic blend of color and charisma. With the sunny disposition of golden yellow, the warmth and love of deep red, the tranquility of ocean blue, the sophistication of magenta and purple, and the balancing act of refreshing green, Endless Possibilities is a wonderful testament that even the most distinct colors can magically blend together and come to life.
As Jeanne wrote on Ravelry just the other day, "This is ALL thanks to all of you and we are so, so happy to know each and every one of you. Thank you for your loyalty, for your friendship and for your business over these last 10 years!" I couldn't have put it better myself. :)

KAL With Endless Possibilities
We are so excited to host our first Knit-A-Long (KAL) in honor of Endless Possibilities! Many of us here at Jimmy Beans wanted to celebrate the milestone of our first independent catalog with a team KAL for the special colorway and we would like to invite you all to join us! We've chosen a lovely (and free) pattern from Ravelry by Tinks and Frogs Rue called Larch. It's a pretty little shawlette that only takes one skein of Shepherd Sock but is an easy pattern to modify to fit any gauge, like two skeins of Shepherd Sport or the luscious Honor! The possibilities are endless (I know, that was too easy but I had to slide it in here at least once)! Bethany was so excited that she already cast on and knitted quite a few rows!
|
The KAL will officially start on June 13th (to allow you all plenty of time for your yarn to arrive) and will last through July 11th. We'll be posting updates on our blog and offering technical support on our Ravelry group along the way! On Mondays between 10am and 6pm Pacific Coast Time, we'll have the Ravelry chat open and live all day for your technical questions, comments, or just to talk and knit together! If you're not on Ravelry, our Live Chat on our site will also be available for all of your questions during the KAL!
|
Please see the JBW Ravelry page or e-mail support@jimmybeanswool.com for more details or questions. We are so looking forward to sharing this first KAL with you and hope that you will join us in what we hope will be the first of many Knit-A-Longs with Jimmy Beans!

New Berroco
Lovely summertime yarns keep rolling in and now it's Berroco's turn! We're here to rave about two of our favorite wonderfully soft and cool yarns, Linsey and Weekend Chunky!
With eye-catching drape, feathery softness, and lightweight breathability, Linsey is a yarn that keeps on giving. A notably dainty yarn, there is just the slightest shift of color imbedded in its two ply form, resulting in subtle variations in the solid blends and kaleidoscopic stripes in the variegated ones. What I really like about this yarn is its unique striping quality - just take a look at the Josu Pullover! The idea of the variegated blends is that no two garments will have the exact striping pattern, how cool is that? This yarn also has tremendous stitch definition and looks fantastic in lace as Norah Gaughn's lovely Schwaan tee shows off brilliantly. As always, Berroco released a great pattern book to showcase the yarn, #307 - Linsey. This book is full of innovative knits to enthrall the eye and please the fingers!
Weekend Chunky is the big sister to another Berroco favorite yarn, Weekend. It has just the right amount of softness, versatility, and wearability to easily become your go-to yarn of the summer! As a bulky weight yarn, Weekend Chunky will fly off your needles with ease to make gorgeous summery knits such as this comfortable Pesapallo Vest or chunky lace cowl. Although this yarn is bulky, it's surprisingly lightweight, making it the perfect choice for super-fast baby blankets, top down tees, cropped jackets and even shawls!
Arriving in eighteen dreamy colors from creamy vanilla to bright rhubarb pink, this fantastic machine-washable yarn is complemented by Berroco's accompanying #309 - Weekend and Weekend Chunky pattern book with more than enough knitspiration to keep your needles going all year long!
Your favorite little puppy will be offering some skeins of Linsey on Monday, June 13th so be on the lookout!

What's New?
We have some new yarns, colors, and things to update you on... we hope you find this helpful for your next project!
Knitbot Patterns - Calligraphy Cardigan $6.00
|
The Calligraphy Cardigan is the perfect marriage of two of our favorite things: Knitbot and Madelinetosh! This lovely new pattern by Hannah Fettig is actually a reincarnation of one of her older designs from Interweave's 2009 "Weekend Knits."
With a few modifications and updates, Hannah has renamed this lovely and cozy cardigan after the beautiful color of Tosh DK that the sample on the pattern features. The fit and design of this cardigan makes it the perfect year-round piece. It can be worn around town on cool summer evenings or cozying up by the fire on a cold winter's day!

Stitch Nation Washable Ewe Yarn $4.99
|
Debbie Stoller still has it! We absolutely love her latest fiber creation, Washable Ewe. Not only is it quite possibly the catchiest name we've ever heard for a yarn but it's plenty soft and arrives in a wonderful palette of happy and bright colors. What can be better? There's 183 yards to one ball! Which means you can do these superb Sweetheart Stockings with only 2-3 balls or this youthful take on the traditional fair isle ski cap, the Skull Cap, using four balls of each color. There's also the most adorable kids pullovers, designed by Lorna's Laces' Lorna Miser, such as the Dog-Eared Sweater!
|
Debra's Garden Sheep Soap Accessories - The Sea $8.00
|
Bring your love of yarn into that one room in the house that might be lacking fiber inspiration! Debra's Garden Sheep Soaps are the perfect addition to your shower or soap tray. These delicious smelling, all-natural handmade soaps will get you clean without stripping your skin of its natural oils. Made from goat's milk, jojoba, olive, and vitamin E oils, these soaps are sure to be a new favorite. Grab one in every scent and color to add a splash of sheepish fun to your home!

 Koigu KPPPM Yarn $13.50
|
Our Painter's Palette continues to grow by the week! We've fallen head over heels for Koigu's exquisite KPPPM, a hand dyed sock yarn that just gets softer with wear and boasts the loveliest of color pairings. We love this yarn so much so that we've been ordering new colors of this exquisite fiber every other week! A dangerous affair, I have to admit, now that I've already plotted out three more versions of Churchmouse's Koigu Linen Stitch Scarf to knit! Love a KPPPM color we don't carry? Give us a call and we'll be more than happy to put it in our lineup!
We have a few skeins of Koigu's KPPPM yarn, ready and waiting to go up on Wool Watcher on June 10th (this Friday) for a fantastic price! They may or may not be new colors but you really won't want to miss out!

Lantern Moon Crochet Hook Compact Zip Cases $23.00
|
Never fear, disorganized crocheters, Lantern Moon is here! They transformed their extremely popular Compact Zip Cases into a plushy crochet version to accommodate the crocheters out there! Holding up to fifteen hooks, these gorgeous silk lined Crochet Hook Zip Cases offer more than enough luxurious storage for all of your hooks. The slots are sized from small to large, with the largest ones designed to be able to fit those M, N, and P hooks. What I really like about this case is that it's roomy enough to store all my hooks and notions but "compact" (hence the name!) enough to throw in any of my purses with ease!
|
 Linda Permann Little Crochet $21.99
|
The latest crochet book that has hit our shelves is the utterly adorable Little Crochet pattern collection by Linda Permann. Now, I've seen my share of crochet kids books but this seems to have that extra oomph that pushes me to carry it in my own library. I adore how Permann kept functionality in mind when she was designed these patterns, like the Cutie Patootie Pants. They're made from the top down so your little one can try them on as you go so you know when it is the right size! These pants are also crocheted in Mountain Color's durable (and absorbent) Rivertwist for those unexpected accidents. I'm also a bit embarrassed to admit that I want to make this Hooded Capelet for myself...maybe if I just keep going up in hook sizes, I can get it right! :)
|
Heather Lodinsky 150 Knit and Crochet Motifs $24.95
|
This book is incredible! Ever crocheter should have this little number in their library (in my humble opinion). From swirls and twirls to flowers, paisleys, and geometric shapes, Heather Lodinsky provides enough crochet inspiration to last a lifetime. This book is a must-have for those wanting to design their own patterns. It has unique mix and match motifs to make up scarves, blankets, hats, you name it! Even if you don't have the time or really the interest to create your own, the last section provides more than enough templates and patterns for you to crochet up without even batting an eye!

You heard right! July's Lorna's Laces Limited Edition colorway will be up to you to decide! You can place your votes on our blog! The twist? Next month's color is directly inspired by our favorite boy wizard and his magical adventures in both literary and cinematic form! Harry Potter and Lorna's Laces? Finally, a dream collaboration in the making that several of our Beans have been waiting anxiously for years to happen and we're asking you to help us narrow down the choice!
|
Yes, we've begged and pleaded the gals at Lorna's to dye colors inspired by one of our favorite fantasy series and movies of all time...and they are finally here! Okay, so maybe not all of us are fans - but even the Beans who don't much care for the story can't help but adore the colorways. They are both so pretty, which is why we can't possibly decide! We are leaving it up to you to vote on your favorite color blend and bring a final conclusion to the age old conflict of good versus evil. Choose between "The Boy Who Lived" and "The One Who Must Not Be Named" (you know the one) in our poll located on our blog, where you can view the colors, read the details, and cast your vote on the top right hand corner!
|
Of course, we wanted the color to be available for the release of the movie, just in time for you to knit up a quick shawl or pair of socks to wear to the grand opening (many of us already have midnight tickets) so the voting will end the 15th and skeins will be available July 1st!
