One of our French enthusiasts here at Jimmy Beans, Leanne, is a devoted fan of Chocolate Mousse (or as the French would say, mousse chocolat).
She maintains that there is nothing better than skimming small spoonfuls of the decadent dessert and savoring its rich creamy chocolate deliciousness.
If her description doesn't have you salivating already, maybe this will seal the deal : September's Limited Edition color from Lorna's Laces, Chocolate Mousse, is a luscious spectrum of browns ranging from of deep and vivid to light and airy.
Though not intentionally inspired by the hit summer flick, "Eat Pray Love" (starring Julia Roberts),
we couldn't help notice how well this color fit in with the movie: this color is a tribute to those moments when you just need to "let yourself go". Small indulgences, be they yarn or chocolate mousse, are so necessary in maintaining our sanity and we so often forget to give into temptation every now and again during the hustle and bustle of school starting, summer ending, and the everyday stresses life throws at us. This September make sure to treat yourself to something special!

Beans for Brains Update: Scholarship Winners
We are extremely honored and proud to congratulate the following five winners of our annual Beans For Brains Scholarship:
Chika from Yale, Snowden from the University of Texas (Austin), Ariel from the University of Washington,
Roxanne from Loyola University Chicago and Lauren from University of Nevada here in Reno!
Based on their academic achievements along with their creative knitting and crocheting genius, these five
each received an $800 scholarship towards furthering their education as well as some fun fiber arts goodies.
The Beans for Brains Scholarship is the joint effort of Jimmy Beans and Vogue Knitting to
provide financial support to those knitters and crocheters continuing their education.
We had an overwhelming response this past year and are hoping this year will be even bigger and better!
If you or someone you know is interested in using their knitting and/or crocheting savvy to earn some moolah for school, stay tuned...
We will have more details available at the end of this month! (and by the way, not only did these girls win scholarships, but a few of them
also won 15 minutes of fame as they were the subjects of celebratory news articles.)

Inc. 5000: JBW Ranks as 78th Fastest Growing Retail Company in the U.S.
A giddy curiosity has been mounting in the back of our minds the past couple of weeks: August 24th was the release date for Inc.
Magazine's famous Inc. 5000 list, a list of the top 5,000 fastest growing private small companies in the country.
Last year we were ranked #3253 and have been hoping to do at least as well this year (if not much, much better!).
When the Day of Judgment finally rolled around, we were surprised and ecstatic to discover we moved up over 1500 places to #1525!!!
Considering there are over 27 million small businesses in the United States, we think it's pretty gosh darn phenomenal!
Perhaps even more exciting though was our ranking as the 78th fastest growing privately owned retail company in the U.S.
And on top of that, many companies only make the Inc. 5000 once during their initial growth once their business takes off. To our delight, Jimmy Beans has made the list twice and hopes to, with the help of all of you, make it again next year.
Needless to say we haven't been able contain our excitement and want to thank every single person that has given us support over the last few years.
To say that "we couldn't have done it without you" is a gross understatement. Thank you.
