July is finally here which means summer is well under way, Jimmy Beans Bucks are out, and the newest Lorna's Laces Limited Edition color is here!
Eclipse is our homage to the lunar and solar phenomenon, but more importantly to the wildly popular Twilight saga;
the third book and movie of which share the name: Eclipse. Karla, Ailene and Leanne, our resident Twilight enthusiasts,
were thrilled to the point of tears and wild giggles at how perfect Eclipse (the color) embodies the essence of that epic story.
A smoldering union of smoky charcoal, velvety maroon and a twinge of dusty sapphire, Eclipse is nearly impossible to resist regardless of your feeling towards stories of vampires and werewolves, and is definitely a must-have for your next project or your stash ;) As stunning as its sister color, Twilight**, Eclipse is a magically versatile and unique color that is already flying off the shelves!

Twilight (100g) Returns! Shepherd Sock $23.00
|
Twilight Returns!
In honor of the 3rd year of the Limited Edition line from Lorna's Laces,
we have decided to permanently bring back 3 of the most popular past Limited Edition colors!
To kick things off we have chosen Twilight as one of those three colors and starting July 1st (that means right now!) it is available year round
exclusively from Jimmy Beans! But wait, it gets better! We have yet to chose the remaining two colors to bring back and
are leaving that up to you, our most valued and fantastic customers, to decide.
Eleven colors have being selected to choose from and it will be left up to a vote
to decide which colors will become eternally available.
So if you've always wished you could get more of Amber Rose (October 2008), Simply the Blues (February 2009) or Rainforest
(August 2007, the very first Limited Edition color!) -or any other Limited Edition color- now is your golden opportunity to make your wish come true!
Be sure to cast your vote (the poll is on our blog) and get your fiber friends submit their (or your) preferences as well!

Lorna's Laces Honor Color: Eclipse $23.00
|
New Yarn: Honor!
Are you overwhelmed with all the new and amazing things coming to us this month from Lorna's Laces? Well, prepare yourself for one more spectacular addition: Honor.
Honor is an alpaca and silk blend (70% and 30% respectively) DK weight yarn. It comes in 100 gram hanks with an ample yardage of 275 and knits up fabulously on US 5 needles.
This yarn is so impossibly soft it takes a conscious effort to stop touching it (something I have to do regularly).
While the alpaca holds dye a bit differently than the other Lorna's fibers -the colors tend to be slightly muted- the silk adds a subtle sheen that gives you a whole new reason to love your favorite Lorna's colors. We currently carry both Twilight and this month's Limited Edition color, Eclipse, in Honor and will be adding even more colors to our inventory every week, so keep checking the website for updates!

 Stitch Markers - Numbers 1-5 $24.00
|
Fun and practical! I've been asking Victoria to make these stitch markers for months... and am sooo glad that she did!
They come in a set of 5 and really help me keep track of where I am in a pattern (since my brain just doesn't quite work the way it did before Huck).
Not only are these fun and practical, but they are exquisitely created as well (the number beads 1 through 5 have been wire-wrapped with Swarovski crystals. Fancy, fancy!)
|
 Nelkin Designs - Eventide $5.00
|
Eventide is based an an incredibly easy 6 stitch "cross stitch" pattern and uses Schaefer's Audrey yarn. It is made by working double yarnovers that add length to your stitches so they float and appear to be woven not knitted.
My inner weaver loves this! Beads are used on each end of the scarf creating an arrow of bling. The pattern includes lots of info on working with beads, including: stringing beads, purling and knitting with beads, working yarn-overs with beads, and more.
|
Louisa Harding - Queen of Hearts $21.95
|
Who doesn't love Alice in Wonderland? Well, Louisa Harding has created her own wonderland in this great pattern book. It has everything from fingerless mitts to beautiful sweaters. All of the patterns have a heart filled theme to them using cables, color work and much more.
|
 Norah Gaughan - Vol. 7 $14.95
|
There's just no stopping the creativity of Norah. I was lucky enough to spend time with Norah at the recent TNNA convention and she is as wonderful in person as her beautiful creations are on paper. Her newest book Vol 7 is full of creative designs and I think that you will enjoy working every one of them up. I know I can't wait to add this one to my library!

It's here!!! So much Berroco we hardly know what to do with ourselves (except knit and crochet and frantically plan more projects)! After several days of chaotic unpacking, impromptu yarn box forts and lots of yarn ogling we finally have it all out and (somewhat) organized. With so many new arrivals, it is hard to know what to talk about first. Let's start with chunky. Mmmhmmm chunky! And no, I'm not referring to the huge chocolate chips in that cookie tempting me from the kitchen, I am talking about the many boxes of glorious chunky Berroco yarn! We now carry Vintage Chunky, Blackstone Tweed Chunky, Comfort Chunky, and Peruvia Quick - all the heavyweight counterparts to their worsted weight namesakes. Amerique and Leanne are especially excited about the Comfort Chunky and Peruvia Quick which knit up so quickly, beautifully, and in many of the same wonderful colors as the original Comfort and Peruvia. And for being such fantastic chunky yarns they are reasonably priced and have a generous yardage -150 yards and 103 yards respectively!
The Vintage Chunky and Blackstone Tweed Chunky are both part of Berroco's Fall 2010 lineup as well as Campus and Borealis. While the Vintage and Blackstone Tweed chunkies are both beefier versions of their worsted predecessors, Campus and Borealis are 100% new and exciting! Campus comes in five earthy marled colors and is a spectacular bulky yarn that varies in thickness which gives it a unique, homespun texture. Borealis, like its namesake, is a visual magnet you can't help but admire with its shimmery sheen and array of varying hues. Also a bulky weight yarn, Borealis is ultra soft and comes in ten colorways, each one breathtakingly beauteous!
New yarn isn't the only newness from Berroco, we have also received the latest additions to the Sundae, Comfort and Ultra Alpaca color palates! There are so many fantastic hues ranging from intense jewel tones to unique marled and heather textures to more neutral and natural tones. With so many more options it may be even harder to chose just one for your next project :)
Wool Watcher Alert! We'll put putting 4 balls each of 2 colors of the new Campus, Vintage Chunky, Blackstone Tweed Chunky, and Borealis on the Wool Watcher this week... at a HUGE discount.
We hope you'll take this as an opportunity to try out the new yarns, write reviews, and tell all of your friends how great these are!

New Lorna's Laces colors are here!!! After being taunted with imaginative names for the colors to come,
we finally got to see what "Unicorn Parade", "Robot Overlord" and "Turtle Rodeo" actually look like!
All three of the new variegated colors (the ones with crazy names) are exiting and unexpected combinations.
Robot Overlord is a melange of bright red, dusty brown, gold, and deep chocolate.
If you're looking for a more masculine color with a little zing to it, this color is perfect,
though anyone who loves earthy browns and reds would be thrilled with Robot Overlord!
The most unexpected and nearly unanimous favorite of everyone here at the shop is Turtle Rodeo.
It is a daring blend of deep turquoise, rusty orange, charcoal gray and silvery green that gives off a
funky wild west kind of vibe. Third on the list of new colors is Unicorn Parade, the most anticipated color
among us Beans here at JBW as we all have a slight obsession with unicorns. It did not disappoint!
This color is a cheery array of eye-popping hues that hearkens back to the days of My Little Pony.
An optimistic mix of lemony yellow, creamsicle orange, aqua blue, lively grassy green and a deliciously
bright purple, Unicorn Parade is an excellent option for those projects you're working on for your daughter,
granddaughter, niece, or other bubbly little girl in your life :)
Also on the list of new arrivals are the solid colors Patina and Fjord. Patina is a rich bronze hue and Fjord an airy
light blue. Both have the slight variations of color within a hank, a common characteristic of hand-dyed yarn.
They knit up into a unique and luscious fabric that adds to or accents any wardrobe!
All five of these fantastic additions to the Lorna's spectrum come in
sock,
sport,
worsted and
lace weights,
giving you even more possibilities for your next project!

If you've never had the pleasure of working with Noro yarns before, this will be a great opportunity to do so.
And if you have worked with Noro before, then you don't need any convincing!
