Since this month's Limited Edition color shares its moment of fame with the 4th of July, we thought it fitting to choose a color that pays tribute to growing up in small (and big!) town USA. The tinny sound of the ice cream truck creeping around the corner, the faint sounds of kids yelling across the park, and a popsicle in my hand-this month's Limited Edition color, Rocket Pop brings it all back. Of course, my popsicle of choice just about any day was the classic red, white, and blue Rocket Pop (hey, not only does it look cool, it's got more than one flavor in one popsicle!). So, needless to say, when this color, a combination of natural, pond blue, bold red, and a touch of pewter came in, Rocket Pops were the first thing I thought of. It's the embodiment of growing up in just about any town in America!
The 4th of July is always a great family celebration, and this year we hope Rocket Pop takes you back for just a moment-and inspires you to knit!

The latest colors in the
Lorna's Laces Collection are here!
This season, the creative minds at Lorna's Laces are appealing to those of us who like a little variegation! Fiddlehead, Hermosa, Midway, and Sheridan are all striated, or variegated a bit, but the contrast amongst the colors is more subtle than most of the Lorna's colors we've come to love. Hermosa, a combination of rich, luscious purples is Ashley's favorite-but Midway's soft lavenders, greys, and steel blues are a close second. Sheridan and Fiddlehead are equally striking, and perfect for knits for men and boys.

It feels like new stuff is arriving every single day here at Jimmy Beans Wool.
From new patterns (knitting pure and simple),
to new yarns (spud and chloe), we're always kept on our toes (and are always searching for more room in the shop).
My fingers will get too tired if I try to list them all, so i've just highlighted a few of our favorite new additions below.
P.S. Did you know that there are new colors of the
Pretty Cheep Project Bags? Coral, Lime, and Pink
round out the colorways... Coral has been the most popular with you guys, but the Lime is my personal favorite.

Help Amber pay her mortgage! (One of her roommates just moved out.) If you've ever called the shop, logged on to LiveChat,
or emailed someone regarding an order, there's a good chance that you have spoken with our dear
Amber. A knitter by day and artist by night,
Amber designed these t-shirts and has been busy screen printing on her off-hours (she'll
soon be adding bags, onesies, and more to her Knit Fast, Live Knotty line).
The t-shirts come in 2 different styles
(Baseball and Traditional), a number of sizes, and a few different colors. Everyone in the shop has one by now (mine is a black baseball t -
Sandy has the traditional in pink), so make sure to grab one for yourself or for a friend - as far as i'm concerned,
it's never too early to shop for the holidays.

Knitting Pure & Simple Shawl Collar Cardigan

One of five new patterns from
Knitting Pure and Simple, the Top-Down Shawl Collar Cardigan is definitely my favorite.
It has slightly offset buttons and horizontal rib detail and is generously sized XSmall-2XLarge.
As always, the seamless constuction makes this knit a snap, as well as the fact that you use worsted weight yarn
(6-11 hanks of Shepherd Worsted) and size 8 needles... use the Rocket Pop and you'll have yourself
the perfect sweater to keep you warm while watching those chilly evening fireworks (at least it sure
gets chilly in our neck of the woods).

These limited edition colors were hand painted by Cherry Tree Hill Yarn on South West Trading Company's Oasis Soysilk and are exclusive to Jimmy Beans Wool.
Available in 100g-ish and 50g-ish hanks, i have a whole bucket of the solid colors here at the house ... just waiting to be made into something.
That said, the solids are definitely my favorite - the greens, blues, and reds are simply divine together.
Maybe i'll make a baby blanket for a friend that's due in December (using 4 different 100g hanks)?
