Free Shipping On Orders Over $75 through April 2006
Yep, you read it right... now you don't even have to pay the paltry $4 shipping that we've been charging.
And it won't be difficult to fill your cart up with $75 worth of goodies, especially considering how many
great yarns we have these days!
From now until the end of April, 2006, we are offering free shipping within the United States
for ALL orders over $75! If you are shipping internationally, we will deduct the regular $4
shipping price off of your orders over $75. All orders under $75 will still have our standard $4
U.S. shipping costs applied.
TO FELT OR NOT TO FELT?
Bored with Scarves and Hats? Me too. In the stores lately, i've been watching people buy up all
of the felting books that we have & i honestly thought they were crazy.
In fact, more than a few people have heard me say "um, i can barely finish a normal sized project, much
less knit something twice the size that i need to!" Well, my tune has changed - & so might yours after reading this!
It all started a couple of weeks ago when i got it in my head that i was going to knit one of these felted bags that everyone was talking about.
After looking at some of our books, i settled on the bag that Bev featured on the cover of her book
Felted Knits
. Now, if you know me
at all, then you know that once i get an idea in my head, it becomes the most important thing in the world
and i've got to do something about it IMMEDIATELY! So, i recruited hannah & off we went in search of the perfect yarn.
We settled on rusty color of Tahki Bunny Print
and a similar color in their
Star yarn
to give it a little sparkle.
Seems like a good idea, huh? Well, hannah and i thought so! In our hurried excitement, however, what we didn't notice
is that the Bunny Print is 25% Acrylic (i'm foreshadowing here). So, i knit and i knit... i even sat through 2
Indiana Jones movies, because i just couldn't stop and i couldn't wait to put this thing in the washing machine!
And i finished just after Indie was safe again - and ran to the washing machine - in anticipation of watching magic happen.
Can you guess what happened? Yeah, well... not much. i pulled my 'bag' out and viola! My bag looked basically the same,
only as if it were 100 years old!!
Kit of the month
Every month we feature a new yarn + pattern combination at a special kit-of-the-month discount...
This month's featured kit is the
Anny Blatt Angora and Ribbon Scarf Kit
regularly $35.90 (which was a great deal to start with)... on sale for $28.72!! This kit comes with
1 ball of Angora Super and 1 spool of the Victoria Ribbon - in colors dyed to match.
There are a ton of colors, so you might want to stock up... especially at this price! Remember, though,
that quantities are limited to stock on hand - and we might sell out before we're able to remove certain
colors from the site - so please don't get mad at us :(
This kit will be available at the sale price through the end of the month (sale ends March 31, 2006).
THIS JUST IN... GEDIFRA SUMMER YARNS
As I type this, the snow and wind are circling my house - and the temperature is a mere 27 degrees. Ah, Spring is in the air!
Ha ha. Even though i don't feel like looking at or touching anything other than the warmest cashmere,
i know that it's time to start thinking about summer. And i guess Gedifra knows that too, because we just
got a huge shipment of their newest yarns! The timing couldn't have been better.
I must admit that i don't always love the new
Gedifra books that come out each season - sometimes they're just a little too wild for my modest
taste. The new book, however, is now a favorite of mine! I love the colors that they've introduced this year, as
well as the classic designs, with just a bit of excitement looming around the edges. I hope you'll feel the same.
The first of the new summer yarns from Gedifra is called
Fiocco Oro.
It's kinda a funky yarn - with a cool, gauzy feel and look to it - as well as a bit of metallic to spice things up.
What i like is that the metallic isn't overpowering... when you wear something made out Fiocco Oro, it doesn't
mean you have to go Las Vegas for the weekend -- it just means that you want to sparkle a little... The sweater on the cover of
the new book is made using Fiocco Oro - and we're working to add a few more kits to the website, so that you can see
how this yarn knits up.
The second new Gedifra yarn for Summer is called
Tiago. Another
beautiful silk blend that is supported by tons of innovative patterns. We have 7 colors of the Tiago, which is also
a great price for the yardage.
And, as usual, we've been working on putting some kits together for you. Below you can see some sweaters made using
the Fiocco Oro, the Tiago, and even the California and California Like from last year!

Each month, we'll showcase one of our employees, so that you can get to know our team a little better.
Employee of the Month :: Allison
Our store manager Allison almost needs no introduction. An accomplished spinner, weaver, knitter, hand-dyer... oh the list goes on. She's been published in multiple trade magazines (including Interweave and Spin-Off) & received a designer award from TKGA. There's no doubt that she's a local knitting celebrity -- so make sure to ask for her the next time you're in Reno. Without Allison, Jimmy Beans Wool just wouldn't be the store that it is. With us since we opened the Reno location, she has not only managed the store, but taught classes, vacuumed the floor and helped keep a smile on all of our faces.

!!! SALE !!!
We just received 1,000 bags of discontinued yarns from Tahki Stacy Charles. Poor, poor Jerome!
Not only were these yarns a great deal, but they were some of our top sellers last year. I have yet to meet a person
who has knit with the New Tweed & didn't love it... In fact, most people can't just knit 1 project out of the New Tweed!
Here's a list of what we just received:
