Jimmy Beans Wool January 2004 Newsletter!
Hello again!
|
It's been
quite a while since the last newsletter. The store has been very busy, which
is great, and I've been spending my time finding and making space for new
yarns!
We're getting ready to have a booth at Stitches West in Oakland during the third week of
February. Stop by if you are going to attend! Also, I am going to TNNA in Los Angeles in a couple weeks to try to find
the latest and greatest offerings and bring them to you!

NEW YARNS
|
I can't
even begin to describe how much yarn I have in the store now -- 6x more
than when i started 18 months ago... whew!! Here are just a few of the new
ones I've gotten lately...
Costa Rica
Yarn
Just in a
couple days ago! Great colors with an amazing feathery texture! I
immediately started knitting a scarf out of it -- it truly looks
incredible!
Fluff Yarn
New
colors are arriving daily. Check out the website to see the new colors! I
try to immediately take pictures and post them to the site so you can get a
first look!
Noro Yarns
Kureyon, Big Kureyon, Gisha and Lotus -- New colors of these
fabulous Noro yarns have been coming in and more are expected!
Rowan, Rowan
and Rowan!!
We are
now carrying almost every Rowan yarn in almost every color! As you already
know they have a HUGE variety of luxurious yarns including a wide range of
cottons as you start thinking of spring projects! Take a look at their Yorkshire Tweed collection - I'm
knitting a cabled sweater out of it right now and it looks wonderful.

Stop in and see what else we have!
As I mentioned, I am also going to TNNA in a couple weeks ready to pick up
whatever catches my eye, so get ready for plenty more new yarns to be
showing up soon!

!! $75 in Free Yarn !!
|
From February 19th - 23rd, Jimmy Beans will be in Oakland at the Stitches West Show. Due
to some unfortunate health circumstances (read: broken leg), some of our regular
helpers may not be able to attend the show. As a result, we are in need of
more help! If you enjoy yarn, are friendly, and have 4 hours available
sometime during those days, please let us know!
In return, you'll receive a $75 gift certificate, free admission to the
show, and a cool tote bag to carry your knitting accessories!

Knitting Retreat 2004
|
Many of you remember the wonderful retreat we held last
summer -- well, we're going to do it again!
I am currently working on the details, but we're looking at the latter part
of June and at the same location - Feather River Inn outside of Graeagle. I
should have a set date by the end of the month.
Like last year, the weekend will begin Friday evening, include continuous
food, drinks, and classes, and end on Sunday morning. The cost will likely
run around $300 - $350, based on double occupancy.
I will give you more details as they become available, and feel free to
call or email with any questions or to get on the sign up list! From now
on, I’ll only send info to those who request it. If you are
interested in attending, please send a message to support@jimmybeanswool.com with
“retreat email list” in the subject line – you will then
automatically be added to the retreat email list!!

... Website Updates!
|
If you haven't looked at the website lately, look again!
In addition to adorable photos of our new dogs, you'll find a renovated
design that is more user-friendly and photo-rich.
Every day, I put up new photos of our products -- photos up to 4" tall
on the screen and extremely detailed. Look for the "click for large
image" text under the regular photos on yarn pages. As an example,
look at Costa Rica
Yarn.
In the next few months, we'll be adding customer account capabilities to
our system. You will be able to securely save your person payment
information, save "wish list" shopping carts, as well as view
your past orders! We will also be offering a frequent web buyer program as
a result of having accounts!
This is very exciting for all of us, since the more time you can save on
the computer, the more time you can knit!

!! UPCOMING CLASSES !!
|
Sorry that I haven't put new classes on the site yet - Our
Beginning Classes (5 Thursday series) are actually full until May - and
each time I start to add to the website, the class fills up... We are
thinking of holding a Color Workshop on Feb 7 from 10-4. I'll put more info
up about this class next week - i promise.

!! HELP NEEDED !!
|
As you
can tell from the increased wrinkles on my face, it's busier than I can
handle these days... :) I'm looking for people to help me out a few hours a
week. If you're interested in getting a discount on yarn, helping people
with their projects, and seeing new yarn as it comes off the truck, send me
an email or stop by. I'm looking for people to price and stock yarn
(neatly) and to help with the register!
