Jamieson's of Shetland Bonnie Isle Hat Kit - Hats and Gloves Kits
Whalsay, also known as the 'Bonnie Isle', is where designer Linda Shearer gained her inspiration for this Shetland Wool Week pattern! Although this hat has a nautical theme, her inspiration stems from much more than that. The chain in the rib represents the link between us all during Shetland Wool Week; and the anchor, a common motif in Fair Isle knitting, symbolizes a sense of keeping grounded and connecting to what matters most. The crown, a circle, is a spinning wheel and a tribute to Shearer's mother, Ina Irvin, a prolific spinner and knitter.
If you are interested in creating this piece in a different colorway, we recommend using Jimmy's Sketchbook using the yarn amounts and sizing below to create a piece that is uniquely you!
