From the book, Fitted Knits: "Perfect for summer, this cotton/tencel tank uses a lace stitch pattern and ribbing to create a fittted silhouette. If you've never worked a drop-stitch motif (on purpose, that is), this is a fun project for learning it. Worked at regular intervals over the tank, the teardrop shaped dropped stitches crete a peek-a-boo look that shows just enough skin.
An interesting texture turns this simple shape into a sophisticated top. It's simply constructed of two identical rectangles, with the front rectangle split at the neckline, Fasten the top button and the neckline mirrors the shape of the drop-stitch lace motifs. Knit from Cascade Pima Tencel, this tank provides comfort and stretch".
This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner or intermediate knitter.
This pattern makes a very stretchy top. Choose a size about 6" smaller than you usually would.

Gauge: 20 sts/4 inches.
