From the book: The arrival of a new baby is always a special occasion. This simple shawl is the perfect knitted gift to celebrate a birth or a Christening, when nothing but the best will do. Although it is knitted in a fine yarn, the shawl is worked on quite large needles so it doesn't take too long to make. It is made in five simple pieces: the main part is worked in an easy four-row stitch pattern, while the borders are made up of seed stitch with a fine picot edge. The eyelet holes are knitted in and threaded with a sumptuous satin, velvet or organza ribbon, tied in each corner with a big bow.
We have kits for this shawl made with two different yarns: Blue Sky Alpaca & Silk and Blue Sky Hand Spun Organic Cotton. Both are lovely choices for this gorgeous project.
Kit includes Yarn. Pattern Book is optional.

Suggested US 7 and 8 straight needles and 6 2/3 yds. ribbon 1" wide not included.
