From the book: This adorable snake puppet is made using the knit stitch on both the front and the back of the work, a combination called the garter stitch. The puppet is perfect for beginners because it is an easy way to master knitting before going on to more advanced stitches. There is simple shaping in this patter, so you will learn to decrease a stitch by knitting two stitches together. And finally, you will learn how to bind off, which is necessary to complete any project. Puppets make an out-of-the-ordinary baby shower gift, and kids are entranced by them.

Suggested US 8 straight needles, polar fleece for mouth, and two buttons for eyes not included.
Gauge is 18 sts = 4".
