Pure Joy! Smooth and Soft. Knits up fast. I used this for the "French Girl, Fantine" sweater. Okay, I ended up using it for several of them. The marled colors add zip and the solids are sophisticated, even though the yarn is chunky.
I'll admit, I bought the yarn because it was on sale. I used it for the "French Girl, Fantine" sweater with fabulous results. The tufts really ad an element of fun but it does take a tiny bit longer to work with since you have to make sure those tufts actually peek out instead of being caught in your stitches.
I've only had this pattern for about a week and have already knit three sweaters. Top down sweaters are always so much fun and minimal finishing work. I used Rowan Big Wool Tuft for the first one (8 Skeins for a 34" bust). My boyfriend calls it the "Cat Toy" sweater because of the little tufts of merino which peak out enticingly. Used Big Wool, as called for, on the second one, very charming results. And, for the third, I raided the stash and stranded two different yarns together. The possiblities are endless and the pattern is clear and concise. C'est Magnifique!
