Once again, I will say that Tosh Light is my absolute all-time favorite yarn. Oh, I buy other yarns, I knit other yarns, but this is simply the best......the best colors, subtlety, hand, wearability......and Jimmy Beans Wool is the best place to buy Tosh Light......all works together!
The more I knit with this yarn, the more I love it. If I could only have one yarn in my stash perish the thought!!! it would be Tosh Light. Colors are vibrant, yarn is a delight to knit and wear. The best!
I was disappointed with this yarn. The color was not what I had expected to see.....it seemed grayed out, sort of like a white shirt which has been washed too many times. As this is a hand dyed yarn, although the color I selected was a pastel, I expected it to be clear and clean, pink or peach with cream.....it was not. The description said it could adapt to many different needle sizes but when I knitted it on a needle two sizes smaller than the recommendation, the resulting fabric was stiff and unpleasant I ripped out the project and don't know what I will do with the yarn now. This is an expensive yarn. It ought to be great it was not. This was an unusual disappointment from Blue Sky Alpacas as I have always liked the yarns from their company before this one. I will certainly continue to use their other yarns, but could not recommend this one.
This yarn is superb. I am finishing a shawl using two colors.....tern and candlewick. The tones are beautiful, remind me of naturally dyed and handspun singles I once was able to produce. The drape in simple garter stitch is just great the hand of the yarn makes it a pleasure to knit. There is good yardage for the price. I have not found one knot in the two skeins. I have not blocked or washed the garment, but if it performs well there, it will be without flaw. Lovely, lovely, simply the best.
This is a superb yarn, great for any project which fits its gauge. Made a hat for my husband which he washed and dried without my advice and it still looks great! Colors are many and all are rich......I was knitting on moss as we were traveling across the mountains and I could see the exact colors of my yarn reflected on the mossy rock surfaces we were passing. I have made 6 projects so far and well pleased with all. A favorite yarn choice for now and future.
An affordable yarn with a wide range of beautiful colors.....knits up quickly and has a good drape. One down side I noticed is that the yarn has several plies and a light twist making it easy to snag. I knitted a garment for a 4 year old, so I'm guessing there will be snags-a-plenty after a few wearings....might make a better choice as a yarn for an adult's garment.
