the softest yarn ever!
Beautiful colors, heavenly softness, delightfully cozy. I have @ 9 colorways of this yarn in paints as well as melanges and solids. I have worked with it extensively, and Misti Alpaca lace is among my top favorite lace yarns. It is peerless in softness, loft, beauty after washingnothing in it's price range can remotely comparein terms of softness, drape, and overall beautythis yarn can hold its own against yarns of many times more the expense. Ihave used everything from bison, yak, cashmere, and silk, and I always come back to this yarn. Love it!

the crack of the yarn world!
I adore this yarn! I have an enormous stash of it in many colorsI can't get enough. Someone once compared this yarn to crack in the addictive effect it has on knittersI laughed, but it is true. Kidsilk haze makes any yarn pared with it beautiful. The soft halo and shimmer effect is elegant and beautiful. I mix it with about 1/2 of the projects I make, because it just enhances any yarn with which it comes in contact. It is expensive, but the yardage is ample, and the effect is priceless. Kidsilk haze is not itchy or scratchy. It is soft and smooth, and it creates a heavenly effect. It is also durable and strong. The pile always stands up, and the yarn looks the same after years of wear. This yarn is so luxurious that one would not think of ot as practical, but actually, silk is very strong as well as lovely, and the mohair will cover any but the most glaring of mistakes. I am addicted to kidsilk haze, there is nothing quite like it.

unuseable patterns in new format
I wrote a review of the new Verena format, which I detest, and somehow the review inadvertantly posted under the fall 2009 issue. My critique of Verena only applies to the issues beginning with Spring 2010 to the present, before that the magazine was amoung my favorite knitting publications. I do not know why my review came up under the wrong issue, but again the review applies to Spring 2010 issues to the present.

unuseable patterns
I loved the old Verena. While thw new Verena boasts fabulous photos, the patterns are in tiny print on the cheapest of newsprint, and they are hardly useable. Having complained to Verena directly about the change from the lovely glossy high quality photos and pattern directions, I was told to download and print the patterns myself. Well, when I purchase a knitting magazine, I expect it to come with useable patterns. I do not want to go through endless and expensive printer cartridges to get the patterns offered in this publication when I have already purchased them. I would rather have fewer patterns in a normal sized print on good paperother knitting magazines offer this, or if it is going to be oddles of patterns, then still use good paper and and a normal font size. Too bad, Verena was a fabulous periodical, but the new format is rich on fantastic photos, but so cheap on the printed presentation of the patterns that I cancelled my subsription.
