Cascade - Casablanca
Cascade Casablanca Yarn 3 out of 5
Soon as it became available at JBW I ordered a skein of red to make a scalloped cowl. I used the free pattern from the Cascade website. Anyway, I really tried to give this yarn a fair chance! First off, it is not soft to the touch. So I figured once it's blocked it will soften up. Then as I start to wind it I notice how fragile the yarn is. You could actually pull it apart in pieces with not much effort. I went ahead and made my cowl. I just didn't knit very tight for fear of it breaking. The cowl came out lovely, the color variations are beautiful. Unfortunately, it didn't soften up after a nice soak and blocking. I'm thinking maybe I got a bad skein. I might purchase again, but I would definately have to have it in my hand to check out the quality.
