Disappointment
I got a set of size 4 DPNS November 2012. So I've had them now for about 8 months. I originally purchased the set to test them out. I want to replace my wooden 0-4 needles because I'm afraid I'm going to snap them. This seemed like a great replacement, Carbon fibers with steel tips. Kind of neat! The tips are nice and sharp and consistent unlike wooden needles but The join where the carbon meets the steel tip is not flush. For thicker yarns this isn't much of an issue, but for finer yarns it catches easily. Since I'm a loose knitter, I wasn't worried about it and just resolved to use my size 4s on worsted/dk weight projects. Recently, one of the steel tips has started to come loose. It hasn't come off, but I can see that it's probably not far from doing so. I'm a little disappointed in these, I had high hopes. I'm glad that I tried out a set before committing to purchasing multiple sets.

Delightful!!
If you're a fan of Alpaca, like me, you'll love this. This super soft yarn, is cool to the touch but will keep you warm and toasty. Everyone that comes in contact with the hats and scarves I've made with this yarn coos and begs for one of their own.
It does have a tendency to shed while working with it, but holds up during wear.
My husband also has knit with this yarn, however he's a bit more inexperienced than I am, and he had a problem with it splitting.

Wonderfully Cozy
First let me start off by telling you that I love Alpaca fiber so I was destined to love this yarn. I used this particular yarn to knit hats as gifts this year. The yarn is light, springy but is still very warm and cozy. You get a surprising amount of yarn for what you purchase. I was able to knit a whole hat with on skein of this and still have enough to embellish other things with. It was a delight to work with. Minor thing to note: While knitting it does tend to shed.

Not what I expected.
I was expecting chic clothing designs but the designs in this book are frumpy or dull.  That being said, the author does devote 30 pages or so to shaping, developing your own patterns and other refinements.  She also provide some interesting patterns as well as pattern charts for many of them.  I'd spend some time considering what you want out of this book before purchasing it.<br>
