All of us at Jimmy Beans Wool know how tough it is to pay for college these days - whether you're putting
yourself through school, or sending your kids/grandkids to college. Tuition is up, and
the economy is down, but we're here to help! We've teamed up with
Vogue Knitting International to launch the Beans for Brains Scholarship Program!
The Beans for Brains scholarship is a merit-based scholarship open to all students attending an
accredited institution in the fall of 2010. Applicants must know how to knit or crochet, must provide an
original pattern or a photo of a recent project from Vogue Knitting,
and must be ok with us publishing their photo in a future issue of Vogue Knitting Magazine (you'll be famous!).
We heartily encourage our customers attending school, or their children/grandchildren to apply.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students
in any course of study. (ok, we know it's just a drop in the bucket to you doctors-to-be, but every little bit helps, right?!)
For the 2010-2011 award year, there are five $800 scholarships up for grabs,
one of which is guaranteed to go to a Reno/Tahoe local (the other 4 awards will be distributed evenly among
the 4 U.S. Regions).
For more details and complete rules, please download a copy of the scholarship application:
Applications will be accepted from October 7th, 2009 to March 31, 2010.
We will begin mailing award letters on May 10, 2010; funds will be awarded beginning August 12, 2010.
