Beans for Brains Scholarship Program!

We need YOU to make our 2011/2012 scholarships happen! Jimmy Beans Wool is so excited to be announcing the 2012 Beans for Brains Scholarship Awards! We've got an exciting plan to share with you for the 2012 awards, so we hope that you will join to help.

First off, we wanted to say a quick thank you to all of our sponsors from last year! Because of their efforts, we were able to give out $18,000 to our six amazing scholarship winners! Of course, as the school season is starting up again, we wanted to get started on the 2012 program. Last year we reached out to vendors in the industry to get donations, but we heard from so many of you that you also wanted to donate and, of course, we listened. Here's the new plan:

This year, we have 10 major sponsors that will be matching public donations to the Beans for Brains scholarship fund. For the month of November, Jimmy Beans Wool will be accepting donations online and in our retail store with the targeted goal of raising $10,000 from all of YOU! Each of our sponsors will match the amount raised up to $1,000 for a grand total of $20,000 combined.

Let the donations begin! From November 1st through the 30th, be sure to send your family and friends to this site. If every one of our customers gave $1, we'd be well over our goal in no time!!

The Beans for Brains scholarship is a merit-based scholarship open to all students attending an accredited institution. Applicants must know how to knit or crochet, must provide an original pattern or a photo of a recent project, and must be ok with us publishing their photo in future media ventures. We heartily encourage our customers attending school, or their children/grandchildren to apply. The scholarship is open to undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students in any course of study. (Ok, we know it's just a drop in the bucket to you doctors-to-be, but every little bit helps, right?!)
