Laura saw this Gumdrop Pillow design by Amy Butler and knew immediately that she wanted to make one for Huck in the Birch Organics Robotic fabric. She found out that Amy has a class on Creativebug.com specifically for making this pillow, so she decided to check it out! A few hours of cutting and sewing later, and Huck has a new 'bean bag chair' as he lovingly calls it. He wouldn't let Laura stuff it anymore full and left it nice and squishy squishy so that he could comfortably sit on it. Needless to say that the client loved his pillow and Laura will be making more of them for the house!
The project should take 2.25 yards of fabric total according to the pattern. Laura used 4 different prints and purchased .75 yards of each fabric to ensure she had enough. In addition to the 2.25 yds needed for the body, the pattern also calls for a 10' x 10' square of fabric for a contrasting patch at the top.
