Taken from the new Knitted Jackets book by Cheryl Oberle: "During the Edo period in Japan (1603 to 1868), art and culture flourished. Haiku poetry was born, focusing on themes of simplicity and beauty found in everyday life. The style of the knitted lace Edo is based on the traditionally simple Japanese hanten jacket".
The pattern is one of 20 new designs in the book Knitted Jackets. We have substituted the yarn in the book for the new Wool Classica.
Finished sizes: Size A is 53.5" chest and B is 58" chest.
Suggested needle size: for A, needle size 9 and 7 (24" length) and for B, needle size 10 and 8 (24" length) circular needles are required, but not included.
Gauge for A is 15 sts/4 inches and for B is 14 sts/4 inches.
Manos Del Uruguay Wool Classica yarn offers a gauge range from 14-18 sts per 4 inches on needle size 8-10. Choose the appropriate needle for the gauge you need!
