What a great entrance this beautiful and colorful cardigan makes into Spring and Summer! Stephanie Japel, the author of this book really excels in adding texture and interest to a garment without making it compliated. She employs simple techniques and gets stunning results. Taken from the Fitted Knits book: "This sweater combines the ease of bulky yarn (Cascade Bulky) with subtle details like shaping at the back and sleeves for a look that is casual and crisp at the same time. The deep bordered ribbing provides a structured frame for this easygoing knit. Choose a bright color and wear it to usher in the warmer months.
This sweater is knit from neckline to hem using both decreases and change in needle and stitch pattern to create shaping at the back and in the sleeves. The button band is picked up and knit at the very end".
The kit contains enough yarn to complete the project and there is always the option of buying the book if you don't already own it.
Finished Measurements: 34" (36", 38", 40", 42")
Gauge: 14 sts/4 inches
US 10 and 8 circular needles 29" in length, required but not included.
US 10 and 8 double pointed needles required but not included.
The top shown was knit in Cascade 128 color #6240 Yellow, but we've substituted a shop-favorite (Baby Alpaca Chunky) which knits in the same gauge but we absolutely love the texture!
