Taken from Modern Top-Down Knitting: "I dyed the yarn for this hat to mimic the coloring of pigeons, which I see every day in Brooklyn. I worked the hat from the top down using a fine gauge alpaca yarn in cream, and then painted it with Jacquard acid dye in silver gray, gun metal, and jet black. The result is a sleek and sophisticated piece that is easy to personalize and make your own."
