Swans Island's Bulky yarn is dyed with natural dyes in a labor intensive process that brings much joy to the dyer, the knitter and the environment. It results in beautiful yarns with lots of variegation that vary from lot to lot. The endurance, soft merino wool and eye-catching colors of this yarn make a great blanket, hat or sweater.
**PLEASE NOTE** Some of the colors are dyed with all natural Indigo. The dyeing process for indigo is quite different from other plant based dyes as the Indigo molecues sit on top of the fiber rather than penetrating into it. Because of this, it is the inherent nature of natural indigo dyed yarns to have some "rub off." Everything has been done to minimize this, but you may experience some color rubbing onto your hands or needles. All colors that are created using Indigo are identified with a special tag. |
