Overall Baby Silk And Bamboo DK Rating: (4.2 based on 5 reviews) |
Rating: (5 out of 5) |
| I am knitting a baptism gown for my granddaughter due 8/31. The dress has a stockinette bodice and lace skirt and sleeves. The drape is excellent and the stitch definition is superb. |
Rating: (3 out of 5) |
| I've used this yarn for 2 shawls. Absolutely gorgeous to work with as is the finished project. Wonderful drape and sheen to shawls. But yarn has 2 major issues: 1. Every single skein has at least 1, mostly 2 knots from thread breaks. 2. Ends will show if you add new yarn in middle of project.
I found I had to split each thread end into the 6 threads making up the twist and weave them in individually. That's a lot of extra work. |

| Wonderful sheen and stitch definition, but tends to lose twist and split somewhat. Recommend using with care and sharp needles. |

| I really like this yarn a lot. It's got a beautiful sheen to it, and I love the luster it gives the finished product. It definitely has a hint of luxury from the silk, and it ups the wow factor of almost any project- I've used it to make baby bonnets, and it works really well in that application. I only have two minor complaints; the first is that the yarn tends to lose twist as you work with it, so you have to be careful. The second is that the colors aren't quite as pure as they appear on screen: the cream was beautiful, but "ballet slipper"- which I thought would be a pure pale blush pink- had some grey tones to it that muddied it a bit. Overall I'd say it is definitely worth a try, especially if you want some of the look and feel of silk without the hefty price. |
