Solemate is Lorna's latest amazing creation! A sock weight yarn that is made from 55% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon and 30% Outlast, a fiber technology that continuously interacts with a body's microclimate to moderate temperature from being too hot or too cold. It was used by NASA. Ferrari uses it for their race car seats. Not only do you get this cutting edge technology, but it also comes in your favorite Lorna's hand-dyed color combinations! And don't forget that it is machine washable. Could you ask for anything else in a sock yarn?

Lorna's Laces has agreed to contribute a minimum of 5% of their gross profits from the sale of their Stitch Red product ('12 June - Stitch Red) to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in support of The Heart Truth® and women's heart health education and research.

Scrumptious 5 out of 5 (5 out of 5)
I fell madly in love with Lorna's Lace Solemate yarn. It is soft, easy to work with and has a slight variegated tone in the color yellow. I am making a summer capelet for our Oregon summer. Jimmy Bean was super fast in their shipping and I look forward to more ordering from Jimmy Beans:

I enjoyed using Solemate for the first time in the recent Downtown MKAL. Great stitch definition, nice drape. I'm giving this three stars because I encountered two issues: 1 there were a couple areas where the yarn was split/frayed and 2 I'm having issues with bleeding. I understand red dyes are difficult to set, but for the price of the yarn I'm disappointed that I'm having to fiddle around with multiple washes and vinegar rinses.

I am so happy that I found this yarn. It is soft and knits up wonderfully. I want so many different colorways now!

Haven't started my project yet, but the color is beauriful and the yarn feels luxurious.

Solemate is a sock knitters dream. 5 out of 5 (5 out of 5)
The fiber content of Solemate is definitely designed with the sock in mind. I think the product description even talks about the cooling effect of one of the fibers. I have a great fondness for Lorna's Laces yarns because they are visually interesting, strong, soft, and-- in most cases-- machine washable. The only problem with these yarns are that they are hand dyed, which means that if you're going to knit socks and want them to match you may have a good bit of waste getting to where the color needs to be.
